I like what LIGHTSarmy said, and I'd also like to add that I think the synth is her identity! All of the crazy awesome things she does with it has really made her a force to be reckoned with. I don't know any other artist like her. With her voice, the powerful synth, and the killer lyrics, she really has become the perfect package. Of course I am not discrediting your opinion, just stating my own. :)

There's actually a rumour that she's doing exactly that! She tweeted about a month ago that she's been in studio making something special but that it's not necessarily a new album, and then tweeted a picture of a piano. Also, her husband apparently said this in a live chat recently: "she is in the process of recording and releasing a solid acoustic album" so your wish might come true :)

I love Lights and I've been listening to her for 5 or 6 years now but that's the only thing about her that always irked me. She mumbles SO MUCH you can hardly tell what she is saying half of the time xD In her song Banner, she says "Just like most, falling head in" but for the longest I always thought it was "just like moths, fallin', hatin'" and I was so very confused. xD

Its not mumbling, she's canadian so she has an accent. personally I find it extremely awesome how she pronounces some things in songs, but its not mumbling lol

i think this song is about pop culture, society, how far we have fallen and how we will truly do anything to be happy for a while. hence reaching the " fourth dimension". old invention = drugs, sex, or anything people have done over the years to feel something when they cant find what they really need. it also discusses how even people who " have it all" struggle in the same ways others do. get it? i love this song its sad but beautiful.

im pretty sure the fourth dimension is time, i know the first is length, second is height, third is depth :d if the fourth dimension is time, then i believe this song ties into timing is everything, which makes sense because she is talking about being with someone, marrying them, etc. and timing is everything is about her being with someone at the right time.

I know this is an old post but I want to get this out there. Her REAL name is not Lights. Her birth name is Valerie Anne Poxleitner. She legally changed it to Lights in 2005 or 2006. It comes from her last name. Pox-LIGHT-ner. And it's said to be her nickname growing up. So yes,her name is Lights.

I actually really enjoy the electronic influences, it gives it an edge absent in most acoustic music . Not to say I don't absolutely adore her acoustic music, but I think this new direction is definitely a good thing.

that could make sense but it could also be making reference to a love triangle which is quite an old invention (albeit not as convincing as your interpretation because this sounds more like a love song), or it could just be a line that is elaborating on the idea that the love (im assuming it's love of which she speaks) is complicated and non-sensical and therefore "nothing adds up...you becomes us and makes three"..yet it is still an agreeable love but it could be about babies...if she has mine
