Lightworks 2020 - adding third party VFX plugins!!!i

We can add third party VFX plugins to #Lightworks - it's actually easier than it sounds! We look at how to do this easily, and look at a couple of examples of plugins that we can use.

Thanks for the tutorials. For integrating downloaded VFX, you can open the compressed folder, select all of the folders, and copy them into the Users/Public/Public Documents/Lightworks/Effects Templates folder and you have them at your beck and call all the time. Import now goes directly there on Windows.

I was tempted to show this, but there are just so many plugins in this pack that I would not touch, I decided it was easier to add only the ones I would use. But thanks for the tip

Thanks for all your lightworks video, they are quite informative. Quick question for you. I want to export to KZbin in 1080p and need to go with the pro version for that. Would you advise to stick with lightworks in this situation or would you suggest another software that has more features for the same money as pro? I'm on a pc.

Honestly, if you like Lightworks and can use it, the pro version is good. But if you want to stay free and get a lot more features then you should give DaVinci Resolve a try. I have a playlist of tutorials for it, and it’s quite easy to get into. Actually I would say it’s easier than Lightworks in a lot of ways.

No audio effects in Lightworks, you can do the basic stuff like EQ, and noise removal

You won't be able to do that in a Lightworks movie, because once you've exported the movie, it won't be clickable. You're better off putting the links in KZbin using cards

It does - and a lot of times that's ok. But if you're trying to break into 4k video then it's really not the software to us if you don't want to pay for it. Then I would direct you to DaVinci Resolve

If your computer can handle it, then use DaVinci. In the free version you get everything - film editing, sound editing, special effects and colour correction. You can edit 4K movies and export 4K movies. Lightworks Free is more lightweight, so it will work on old computers and laptops. But you will get film editing, basic sound editing, no special effects and you can only export 720p movies.

Some ideas could be - update to the latest version of Lightworks. Then check that you're not using huge video clips. If you grab videos off your phone, they can be 4K quality, which means that Lightworks will struggle to work

If you seach through the Lightworks PDF manual for the word 'proxies' you'll find info on how to create proxy files. These are lo-res renders of the source files that Lightworks will use while you're editing. Maybe that'll help with your issue.

I just checked the downloaded plugins. If you download them from the link in the description, you can go to the SpecialFX folder and they actually have a vfx called Glitch. It's actually pretty good
