Wouldnt u be worried of the one made if conpressed peat to lower the ph? Ive used peat to lower ph in freshwater aquariums

What effect does it have on the dissolved organic compounds that you want in the aquarium? If you use carbon constantly will it strip anything that's needed out of the water? Trace/ minor elements?

what about amino acids? Iodine can be organic cant it? So its advisable to have a continuous stream of active carbon in your filter?
