Listening to DML-J does two main things to me: (i) he encourages me greatly as a preacher, and makes me want to preach the Gospel with passion; and (ii) he makes me feel that I should never enter a pulpit ever again.

Wonderful man of God describing very skilfully another dear man of God. God is still on the throne when I hear men like Pastor Steven Lawson.

I’m from south Wales. The Doctor would preach at our church from time to time. Well before my time though. The older brothers have great stories of him.

Excellent. Yes, we need passionate proclamation, not dry lecture-like preaching.

Dr.MLJ God has introduced his teachings to me recently. It has been a great joy to listen to these recordings. Before the influence of Social media and LTGBQ woke hysteria and claimed rights. Just because demons gather together, doesn't make you right.

I really enjoy much of Dr. Lawson's sermons but, I can only do so periodically as I very quickly grow weary of hearing the word "reformed". And this grieves me greatly, as I do so relish his intellect and passion. Funnily enough I had listened to several hours of Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones just prior to listening to this message and I do not believe I heard Lloyd-Jones once use the term "reformed" in the sense that Dr. Lawson over uses it in 28 minutes. Sin, Hell, Jesus, Salvation, Deliverance, Judgment, Eternity, the Gospel, let these words continually part our lips. Reformed, reformed, reformed- where does that word lead the heart of man?

I wonder if he has had a study on C. H. Spurgeon? A man of prayer he was... As well as Martyn Lloyd Jones. But what has inspired me the most this past week is the study he did on Jonathan Edwards, and his Resolutions, its great, if you havent hurd it you should listen to it.

A fine word on my most read preacher, MLJ...and all the time listening to his sermons that are all over, for free! It is hard for me to listen to Lawson's voice (sound can be turned down but no defense for nasal...no offense meant) but I cannot miss something good about this amazingly gifted pastor MLJ. It may be (one only ) reason of course but I read and heard from close friend on MLJ's speech, etc, that some came because his voice, perhaps meant as with Spurgeon as well, could be listened to for hours...a strong and fine voice, filled with biblical truth of course. Spurgeon wrote in his book for pastors (& us) that voice is to be big consideration for whether preachers are called, etc. The great preachers it appears were given voices that drew people in...as R. C. Sproul, the well known Scotsman I cannot recall now...or a James M. Boice, etc.

wally God bless you brother Wally.I too have a great fondness for MLJ and Spurgeons teaching and preaching styles. So anointed by God. Amen Sadly there are none of these in the pulpits today but all praise, honour, and glory to God for the KZbin channel.Amen. These are my spiritual fathers. I thank God for revealing their sermons to me. Amen And you are so right about their voices, so eloquent yet effective. Amen

He busted up the stage. "What will we do with it?" One parishoner asked "Feed the coal stove. We won't have to pay for heating this month" came the Dr.'s reply. M L-J disliked outward expressions during his preaching. One service 2 people kept exclaimning "amen!" to certain parts of his sermon. After a few more of these outbursts, the Dr. made a direct and stinging exposition of a bible passage, then, looking at the 2, he remarked "No 'amen'?" The good Dr. never cowered to give stern correction when neccessary.

Dr Lawson…how do I get your book…”The long line of godly men?”. Thank you.

S. Lawson hawking his books...just joking folks...mostly. The religious world has gotten wild with preachers egos and money and flattery to one another. Satan will get in somewhere but preaching is better than so much of the other...and Ligonier has been caught up in the "celebrity" stuff some last years and R. C. gone...I don't know, but prayer is needed for Ligonier that I followed with great interest in 70's, and it's gotten famous now. Watch out. This is not meanness if you are hearing this as meant.

The Bible literally says a workman is worthy of his labor. If he spent countless hours studying and researching, there is nothing wrong with him giving lectures on his books.

Strange.. MLJ preached away .... from persons and personalities yet, so many comments on MLJ's preaching are pretty full of MLJ as a preacher etcetera

Sorry, I prefer to watch Martyn Lloyd Jones' preaching on God's words than this man talking about Jones' teaching.
