God uses the weakness of men, not their strengths to do His sovereign will. He uses His foolishness to confound the wise. You can see how Luther was completely swamped in his sin, and the futility of confessing his sin to other humans. Only Christ can actually forgive the sins of us all.

They are going to rise in judgement with many of Israel and condemn them because they repented at the preaching of Jonah and Jesus was greater than Jonah, but many of Israel didn't repent at the preaching of Him. I got to 43:00. The personal application is weighty indeed. I think of the Lord’s words to Job in Job 40:7-14, ending with this statement: Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee. It is humbling to consider my own frail, faulty humanity. To consider my own inability to help myself to salvation. And such a relief and joy to consider Christ’s love for me and that what I could not do for myself, He Himself has done for me.

Great teaching by RC.Sproul. Indeed what distiguishes genius and insanity is a thin line. For Martin Luther the geniusness entered into his soul because of his guilt conscious ( in disguise) that he violates his God's two grear commandments continuously and he was unable to get rid of the feeling. Only upon stumbling on the words written in the book of Romans , "Justification by faith" just three words solved his problem and inspired him to introduce it to the world that became the "Reformation " to the entire Christian world. God inspired just one person to do it by the lightening experience that He sent .Thank God and thanks to RC. May his soul rest in peace.

By tring to be like Christ that I forgot yet not knowing that I could not ever stand before him based on the perfection of mine ownself righteousness that I came to hate not just others but mine ownself for God alone is GOOD ! Carl Jones Sometimes this kind of anger is actually a cry for help. Those in need don’t always express it as, “Help me!” This is another reason why we should not fight evil with evil (not saying anyone here was) or why be kind to those who hate us or are angry with us. Anger is often the outward sign of someone who is deeply hurting or depressed. I’ve dealt with severely depressed people, and hated them for their anger, but then started to realize I shouldn’t, because they are hurting and need help, not scorn. But I’m not gonna lie, even now, even having personally felt some of what they went through, I still find it difficult at times.

It may be hard to accept (because we are naturally human centered and the realities above are hidden) but Roman's 9:22 makes sense of your question. It is so the magnitude of God's mercy can be fully known that there is an abiding eternal judgement. Ie, so the saved can really know the nature of God's mercy there will be a visible judgement of what we deserved and what Christ suffered on our behalf. This is according to God's purpose, wisdom and righteousness. We can find it difficult because it is extreme and we might rather that God order the universe around human importance, but that has alway been the conflict: God's importance vs human importance.
