You Are Perfect // Doctor/Companions

Cause I couldn't get the idea out of my mind.
Seriously, it's been nagging and nagging and when I finally sat down to edit it, I was done in about 5 hours.
This whole vid stemmed from that opening conversation between Rose and Donna. I love it. And I love how true Rose is: The Doctor is so good at making everyone around him feel like they're "brilliant". So I wanted to show lots of his interactions (I'm sure I didn't get them all, no matter how hard I tried, lol) with his companions and other people he ran into, showing how he helped them believe in themselves and they, in turn, helped him as well :)

Okay, listen, I seriously watch this twice a day, if not more. The hope it gives me, not just for the show, but for life, and humans in general, is inspiring. Beautiful!! Love this song! Love the inclusion of all the people he touched, more than just the Companions that travel in the TARDIS with him (Rose, Jack, Mickey, Amy, Rory, Donna, Martha, Sarah Jane). Yes, he does make them feel important, loved, and valued for who they are. :)

This kind of illustrates my frustration with Moffat's female companions. They start out "perfect" and he adds a minor flaw here and there as the story requires it. I much prefer the Companions who find their perfection during their travels. Rose, the Shopgirl; Jack, the Wanderer; Martha, the Student; Donna, the Temp. They all started out as such small versions of themselves, and then the Doctor saw something special in them and gave them the lenses they needed to see it in themselves. The best compliment in the world would be to have the Doctor tell you he thinks you're brilliant, and the best day of your life would be when you accept that he was right. :)

LittleHobbit13, I agree, (except for Rory, he went from being just the "friend" and nurse to the Last Centurion). As for Clara, while Jenna Louise Coleman is a great actress, the character is my least favorite companion. She seems to be the only one who isn't her own defined character. Instead, at first she relies on the Doctor, and then Danny Pink to give her definition. After so many strong companions, it's a shame to waste Coleman on such a weak role.

Oh a new one~ :D And that AN is so true. It is what the Doctor does. Good touch with "bad decisions" when Amy pressed the button. Most of all though, I really loved how you included Jack, Vincent, Jenny, the Master, I forget the bus girl's name, and you even have Nancy and the wedding couple in there. You put everyone in. 1:15-1:21 made me feel bad because it wast he jealous boyfriends. But that was a great idea. Having Mickey and Rory confronting the Doctor in there. Then 1:58-2:24? Perfect.

Really an excellent choice of both song and clips. I especially like how you match it up with Van Gogh. I've thought that this song would have been an even better fit for that episode than "Chances." I'm not sure. Worth a try.

I love this. It's really good technically, the clips are synched perfectly, there's a great mix of clips, the editing and sound and stuff and... it's so true. Because that's what the Doctor does, to everyone he touches. Well, either that or they die, but the point still stands.

when ever I watch this video it always reminds me of why I love doctor who and what great relationships he has with his companions. The doctor does believe his companions are all perfect in their own way and they all hold a special place in his hearts.
