Those times hits different. Not only Nishiki was good. But also Majima was deep shit serious and watched as two guys took bullet for him. But also Kiryu probably only then met biggest threat from his fights as Kuze was the only character probably in Yakuza history that tanked Kiryu's Tiger Drop.

In any game franchise other than the Yakuza series we would call putting this song again as a recycle. But no. Kiryu left a piece of his heart when Nishiki died and it's only fitting that he would sing about the relationship that he had with his kyoudai as much as possible.

In a perfect world, he, Nishiki, Yumi and even maybe Yuko should be spending their nights hanging out in the Serena reminiscing of their past, making jokes about each other's age and sharing stories about whatever children they have, in that world Kiryu wouldn't be alone and have a loving family to return to every night and his kyoudai to support him. I think Kiryu sometimes imagines a scene like that, a what if of a better life in his most lonely nights, still yearning for Nishiki and Yumi even years after their deaths.

Know this song originally came out in Kiwami 1 but man it shows that Kiryu despite all that happened he still only remembers Nishiki and the good times they had. Even if he did point a gun at him in that one scene
