That's a awesome engine the S1 I love the steam as it comes out it's synced to the sound. I see so many steam engines just keep blowing smoke regardless of the engine piston stroke. It's great to see one that syncs the steam and piston stroke sound.

Eric, I believe your Visionline Baldwin Centipede is your strongest puller; I think 4lbs+ on each unit... Regardless, this has amazing tug. Man as much as I’d love to have this loco, I’m actually more interested in that L&N sign in the background. My grandfather worked for L&N for 40 years. He used to take me to the yard when I was a kid and he would let me sit on his lap and run the levers in the switcher around the yard and back then they still had a few cabooses around and I would get ride on them every now and then. But that sign I’ve never seen and I would love to get one

Another excellent review! It honestly couldn't have been better, in my opinion. I knew that there are two sides to this, but I wish the rest the locomotive review channel providers would watch your channel to see how to provide the best possible content, as one could easily point to your reviews, as being the standard against which all others should strive to compare. By the way, I have been watching your channel for quite a while, but have only been commenting on content for a fairly short time. I left a pretty lengthy comment under the amazing large steam locomotive consist video that had a number of questions and wanted your honest opinion as to whether either the length of the questions or the content was off-putting in way, as it is pretty easy to tell that you have a rather well organized and successful life and one would imagine that your time is therefore somewhat limited. Thanks for sharing your impressive collection and talents.

I have the previous Lionel version in the typical Brunswick Green (or DLE, whatever you want to refer to it as). This color scheme is an interesting take on it, though I'm surprised that they didn't make bronze an option of color, along with the "American Railroads" markings as it sat at the '39 NY World's Fair.

Did you have to open it up to take care of that loud smoke fan? I could hear it from the video in the store and was wondering if you were going to mention it but never did. Jeeze. Lionel got the GP-30's prime mover wrong. It sounds like a 645 instead of the 567 block it came with. Even with Soo's rebuild of three of these with CAT engine inside, they did not sound like 645 blocks. At least Lionel got the Alco trucks on these right.

Hey Eric, do you think Lionel made the Tuscan red on this locomotive too bright? If so, do you think you would weather it a bit, or customize the Tuscan red? It is a beautiful scheme, but personally, I think Lionel did a bit of false advertisement on the Tuscan Red S1. P.S. Broadway limited is an HO scale train company, and I hope they do a Tuscan red version of the S1, if they decide to make the S1.
@Ericstrains3 жыл бұрын
It could probably stand to be a little darker. Not sure why you'd think it was false advertisement though.
@officialpennsyjoe3 жыл бұрын
@@Ericstrains I thought it was false, because the tuscan red is brighter than advertised in their catalog. Perhaps, I am being too harsh. Seeing the model from multiple angles, I believe they did a very good job with the design.
