Fractal animation made with Mandelbulb3D. I originally designed it for Bryan Alvarez from UC Berkeley, for a TEDx talk about his Human Atlas project, to illustrate his initial dream about the beauty of living systems, hence the name of the video. This particular fractal a hybrid Julia set where many parameters are being animated: the fractal paramaters themselves, the Julia seed, the colors, and of course the camera position. One could say it's not 3D, but many-many-D!

Some have pointed out in the comments that this feels "familiar". The reason could be that fractals are as close as we can get to imitating organic shapes with math. Anyone interested in the subject should read Mandelbrot's (father of fractals) "The Fractal Geometry of Nature". He points out that if you wanted to define the shape of a tree or a cloud or a coastline, there are no euclidean primitives (squares, triangles, cubes, etc) that do it any justice at all. However, with fractals, you can come MUCH closer. Think of a tree. It starts from one line (the trunk), which then splits into branches. Those branches then split into more branches, and so on. We all know that a tree is not a triangle or a circle on top of a rectangle, it is a series of branches and leaves. Fractals might just be the underlying math for how organic shapes are defined in our universe. I can't do it much justice here and I'm still a novice on the subject, but that might be the reason for the feelings of familiarity.

@@karsdeelen2448 You can do this with a program called Mandelbulb3D. It's a free program and the animation feature is built into it. It's not super difficult, but for sure you'll have to fiddle with it quite a bit. Also a good pc helps a lot.

However, because the patterns continue, the perimeter is infinite. I am doing Dispenza's meditations for spme time now, few days ago i had a afternoon nap where i fell in a wierd 2d cartoonish place, i was a part of it, but everything was changing it shape and i had a huge loving feeling in that place, some sort of happy place. I woke up and felt like in love but with that place and in my head was a wierd feeling of lightness. I almost had to force myself to be anxious again to feel normal. Meditation is TOUGH tho, first year was a torture but i felt some moments that were changing my life, i had two visions in some kind of spiral, like a wormhole type thing. I saw a house and a some type of contract. Hint, i am looking for a place to live and i do music, lately my creativity bursted, i almost feel fear how different i feel now i need time to accept it. Meditation is for courageus people i feel and i had no choice to be corageus in that deep depression i was a year ago. So yea, i am looking foward to expirience more of those places i was in my dreams coz my health is changing so fast. Cheers

Probably correct?. You could see all possible timelines through a fractal. Zooming in on an area would reveal a timeline, and the black area (which is to say the black area of a 2 dimensional fractal) could represent the beginnings of each timeline, which is an infinite number in itself. Outwardly of the black border is positive infinity, the "real" dimensions, and inwards are "imaginary" worlds, and the non-existent/negative. That's my thoughts on the matter. This is to date my favorite fractal animation video. I like how you sort of tell a story that takes us from geometric structures to more organic looking forms. At times I feel like I'm watching the formation of bones and skulls. Coral forms become architecture. The wall between the organic and the fabricated is melted by mathematics and the nature of all form.

It amazes me that, I saw extremely similar images in early my early twenties on big doses of acid. One night, I took far too much and I remember walking around late at night, it was cloudy but the sky was purple and had patterns exactly like some of these animations covering the sky. Needless to say, after I saw that, I took a year break and only dropped acid a few more times.
