The boat ramp at Black Point Marina was packed with people celebrating Memorial weekend. My name is Alfred Montaner Host of the Chit Show in Miami.

Coolest small boat i had was my 1989 or 90 mcray 15 foot with a mariner 40 but 4 cylinders, I still miss it gave it away in 95 for 2300

That was a great little 2-stroke OB motor. I had one on a 25' pontoon boat and it did fine. That motor saw service in places all over the planet, even the most remote areas like up in the far reaches of the Amazon River system or similarly remote rivers in Asia, from the Antarctic up to the Arctic North.

The box truck most likely had a 5.2L Isuzu diesel. Great low end torque, would have no problem pulling the boat. Getting traction is another thing. Willing to bet there was a couple thousand pounds in the box which would make pulling that boat quite easy. Also, 4 big tires being moved instead of 2.

Hey, for once I am not yelling at my computer screen with all the crazy stuff that you see here. Pretty much everyone took their approaches to the docks nice and slow, had pretty good attack angles and no one fell out of the boat. That guy with the Step Kitchen Japanese diesel boxtruck NAILED pulling that big Monteray out. He did it text book all the way. That was freaking amazing. Sad to hear that Fred has been mostly AWOL lately. This was a GREAT Alfred Montaner Black Point Video.

As a boater using ramps what grinds my gears is people don’t prep in the parking lot, get fenders ready, get lines ready, take off tie downs, get the cooler out of the car and into the boat like we do-- They drive down the ramp and hood up traffic doing it there - You are supposed to get prepped, drove down the ramp, drop off the boat into the water and go park the trailer-- Anything else- is a Chit Show!

checked out your Memorial day show from last year. Gas went from 4.29 to 6.75. 57% price increase in a year.

As of June 15th, 2022. All outboards will have to buy the gas at marinas, as the cars are getting 15% ethanol and every part of the fuel system will be damaged on boats, also, on new engines, the warranty will be void if someone uses ethanol in their new outboard engine. :( The Marine fuel sure ain't cheap !

Just curious why so many people tie-up the boats after /before trailering. I'm from the Midwest, most people launch with everyone in the boat then pickup the launch person.

I know what you mean, it should be a short time limit for every boat. There are places to do all the prepping of the boat before you are in the water. I guess they see one person go slow and so the next goes slow. I have seen some boats sit tied up at the ramps for over 20 minutes ! :(

It's funny you talk about learning Spanish from your videos. I learned "Mexican Spanish" and when you speak, it almost sounds Portuguese. The accent you have sounds much different than what I hear in Mexico and other "paises".

It amazes me how many people don't use fenders/bumpers and just bump into the dock. Sure, the dock may have a bumper but still, it's not hard to put fenders out. My boat is old and weathered but I always use my fenders. I roll vintage.

Watching on 7/11/2022 and gas at Harbor Town Marina in Dania is $7.00. I live on the water in Dania and lately I have been bringing street (non ethanol) gas for around $5.20 a gallon. I carry three 6 gallon jugs and I pass by a certain station with non ethanol a few times a week so I just grab 15 gallons a couple times a week and dump it in. I don't use the boat every weekend so it has been adding up, the fuel gauge in my boat has been creeping up and my boat holds 300 gallons. LOL

Street gas is now up to 15 % ethanol and is terrible for a boat's outboard's engine, first all the fuel system is damaged then gradually more damage to the engine as ethanol attracts moisture. On new engines, if ethanol is used, it voids the warrantee. :(

Imagine, calling an Uber to take you and your boat to the boat ramp or to pick you and your boat up. I just paid $5.28 per gallon for non-ethanol for my boat. I have to wonder why they don't pressure wash the ramps occasionally to eliminate the algae which makes the ramps so slippery.
