He explained that he started drinking when he was 12 or 13, which was around the same time he was getting into legal trouble. I’ve spent the last year drinking 1pint & a half of 40% alcohol or beer quite literally EVERYDAY. I’ve been sober for 8 days now & I feel so much better but the first 3 days were terrifying on another level. I’ve never felt so weak & helpless. Heavy tremors in hands, full body fidgeting, tics, profuse sweating, EXTREME anxiousness & the nightmares were on a level of vividness & horror I wont even get into. That’s only alcohol , I can only imagine how awful opiate withdrawal is. I stopped because I started to lose the things I held most dear such as my brain(intellect) & my body’s tone & strength. I love both equally because theres a balance to them. My brains gives me the mental strength to keep my body well & as a 24 year old male, my body is a temple that others & myself should look at positively. When my body looks good, my mind also feels better. That’s the equilibrium. Drinking was hindering my true potential at a horrifying rate. Alcohol & every substance considered a drug will destroy both of those at the same time. Save yourselves. A clear mind is as good as a mind can be. Moderation is key but I’m personally going to stay away from it for a while. Good luck to anyone else dealing with any addiction. You can make it through to your best self.

Your lucky the alcohol did not mutate your metabolism. In serious alcoholics your metabolism can mutate to where your body no longer relies on the normal internal chemcial processes to generate energy but switches entirely to generating the energy from the ethanol in alcohol. If you quit cold turkey when this happens you will die because it wont have any ethanol to generate energy. In these cases people need to be weaned off so their body can recalibrate to using its usual processes to generate the energy.

Of course lean is delicious and very addictive but codeine is a lower level opiate . It's weaker than hydrocodone and oxycodone. Try being on Roxies for like 10 years and try quiting. It is a total nightmare. It's the hardest thing I've ever went through and still struggling to this day to stay off of those . At the height of my addiction to roxy 30's I was spending like 600 dollars every week on them and I always had a hard time getting all my bills paid etc . That addiction always comes first because the body becomes so dependent on it and without it you feel like you can't do anything .
