@@jojotdwp ik how it is. Been through it many times with many different classes of drugs and the common theme is that it sucks. In the case of opioid, kratom (ik it's an opioid, but I feel like people look at it as something separate or more benign when it can be anything but that), benzo, and, at least ime to a lesser extent, stimulant withdrawals, they were a fucking hell like none I could ever imagine without having gone through them myself. They're something you should definitely never underestimate. I also know what you're saying about finally appreciating life. I was only really able to do that while in the midst of opioid withdrawals. Opioids numb you, and when you take that numbness away, you finally realize the damage you were doing by numbing reality.

A lot of people hear "ah man you're shitting your pants and throwing up for a week" and that sounds unpleasant, but it's nothing compared to the shockingly intense mental and emotional strain going thru w/d puts you through. You can see how seriously Boosie takes the concept of w/d, clearly there's something more to it than a couple days of flu like symptoms. I've been through addiction and withdrawals with pain killer pills and its no joke. It took me a month of pure hell before I could function something like ordinary. The first 3 or 4 days my bowels began loosening up again and I actually shit myself 4 times because I couldn't get to the toilet quick enough even though I wasn't eating or sleeping at all. There's much more I could tell like the seizures but It's too much for the comments, needless to say it wasn't a great time. I've been clean since February now and feel much better for it.

I quit alprazolam (xanax) cold turkey, after about 3yrs and it was the worst thing I've ever experienced, physically. I was dizzy and weak as hell. I couldn't hold down any food. I had the shakes so bad, I couldn't sleep because I'd get nauseous when I closed my eyes. Whenever I attempted to eat, I'd end up on the toilet with a trash can in my lap, not knowing which end it would come out. People say withdrawls last about a week but after 2 weeks, there was still no sign of improvement so I ended up at the emergency room, getting lectured by the ER doc about how I could have died. I was dehydrated, low in iron and potassium and had lost 20 lbs. Its been 20yrs and I'm so grateful to be clean from that stuff. Addiction is no joke and withdrawal is hell. It's like being held captive by whatever substance you're addicted to.

As an ex addict myself I appreciate Boosie coming out and sharing this stuff. While my own stuff was harder than codeine, they all belong in the same family and will seriously fuck you up in the long term. I’ve seen over 50 friends die and now I watch these youngins running around laughing and talking about popping Xanax and drinking lean. Well withdrawal from any benzo, klonopin, Ativan, XANAX, can kill you. The only type of withdrawal that can kill you other than from alcohol. And the withdrawal from lean will just make you WISH you were dead. It may be fun while it’s going on but then some years go by and you’re just functioning and getting “normal” not high and from there it’s downhill. And if you ain’t got money like boosie? Well you’re gonna sell, rob, steal or whatever you can to get it. A real answer from a real street cat wanting to be honest and pass on legitimate knowledge. Pay attention youngins.

I got diagnosed with 3 autoimmune back diseases when I was 18. I'm 22 now. Been in pain management since. They put me on 30 mg roxicodone. I don't know how I would have dealt with the pain without it. So thankful that I'm not on it no more though. By the grace of god I made it thru without a having a serious addiction to it. Yeah when I got off of it the withdrawals were hell, but I kept telling myself that if I went back to it, that I would go down a dark road. If you don't have a serious illness and you're just sippin or popping for fun, I promise you you will end up in a dark hole. Opiates are the devil. I'm glad boosie isn't sugar coating shit.
