Lil’ Darlin’ is a swingin', classic tune. I tried to capture the Basie vibe of
simple, un-wasted notes, but fell victim to a few shiny runs. Unlike Cherokee, where the unspoken goal is to play it as fast as possible, Lil' Darlin' goes the other direction. I chose a comfortable middle ground to keep my heart from seizing. Enjoy this slow burning groove with a Lil’ Debbie snack cake. One Nutty Bar to go please!
