moopisgreat I don't know too much what mainstream rappers sound like (other than the shite my young siblings listen to on the car) because I don't listen to too much rap other than LD. If you're a good lyricist + can switch up your style + keep it 100% + unusual, that to me = the perfect storm. I think people relate to his content more than they do mainstream rap (money & hoes & guns). He's appealing to the larger group of Americans who don't have that & he's doing it in a very entertaining way.

Sure there's other people out there doing the whole "Funny Rap/Anti-rap Rap" bit, like Jon Lajoie or some of Lonely Island, but they don't have quite the same talent as Lil Dicky.
