I'm not going to acknowledge the jabs at Nicki, but I will say that I believe Lil Mama truly found her lane. No one is really producing that 90s sound anymore. Not only are her tracks lyrical, she has fun with it and uses old school beats that you can dance too. If she could find a way to keep these vibes, but lay them on original 90s Hip-Hop inspired beats, she could make another run at being a top female MC in the game.

Nobody produces 90's sounds anymore because its 2021 (almost 30 years later). Rap/R&B/Dance.... that music is ever evolving and highly wrapped around pop music, so its not going to be able to float on a style from 30 years ago. It is what it is..... people want to hear new stuff that has originality. This beat has been done 100 times already, and her lyrics have been done 1000 times already. Half the time she is using lyrics that someone else rapped 20-30 years ago. She can dance better than she can sing. And she has some fashion sense, though she isn't on the cutting edge with it. I think the sad fact is that she is an old lady with a style that hasn't changed since the 90's. And because of that she will will never be more popular than she was when her style was the most popular.
