People, it's not like the movies. The temperature of a lit cigarette is too low to ignite gasoline!! If you were to throw it into a full gas tank, the gas would extinguish the cigarette. "What about the fumes!?". Unless they are present in a concentration several times higher than the surrounding air, other than that, the vapor is quickly dissipated.
