There's a lot of "talented" people in this world, and not all of them get famous. It takes MORE than just talent, and something like a label can make a star quite literally from scratch. Hell, we have a prime example incorporate created "boy bands", and the way they engineered that. So it can't really be denied that the label contributed MASSIVELY to his success, and the reward they got was having to deal with a passive-aggressive cunt shitting on their names and reputation. No. If an artist actually writes their own songs and performs the songs then without them those people have no act (if the artist doesn't even write their own material, then it's a completely different story). That's called an investment. There's no guarantee of success. When it blows, you eat. When it doesn't, you eat it. Lawyers don't gouge their clients. When you win, they win and they take a reasonable percentage. Hence why there aren't millions of "independent" lawyers walking into courtrooms. This is why record labels are beginning to become less of a necessity. They ate themselves out of the kitchen.
