I can see why the AE 1s are the sneaker of the year. I personally do not like them. As someone who owns a pair, they are comfortable and absorbs a lot of my jumps; however, they're extremely bulky and fit too tight on your toebox if you go true to size. I believe the main reason it was considered the shoe of the year was because of the person behind the shoe. Who doesn't like ANT and his Adidas ads. But I can name three better basketball sneakers than the AE 1s. The Sabrina 2s are clean asf. Only because it's a girl shoe people don't mess with it. The JA 2s are so clean, I loved the JA 1s. They gave me bunnies and give the best movement of a basketball shoe ever. And the traction is godly. And lastly, my personal sneaker of the year, the Anta Kai 1s are so comfortable and work so well for any fast paced basketball player. That is just basketball sneakers. There's also the Travy Patty Jumpman Jack Trex. Them joints are clean. I always messed with the trainers, so seeing them with the backwards swoosh is fire for squatting in the gym. The SB Low Futuras are perfect. I cannot say anything more. They just clean. There's also them bad bunny gazelles. Them joints are so clean and wearable. My Top 10: 1. Anta Kai 1s Artist on Court 2. SB Low Futuras 3. Adidas Predator Elite 24 (yes, boots are on my list) 4. Bad Bunny Gazelles 5. JA 2s 6. Nike Mercurial Zoom Vapor 15 (yes, boots are on my list) 7. SB Low Olympic Safari (so underrated) 8. Sabrina 2s 9. Travy Patty Jumpman Jack T-rex 10. AE 1s Did not include the black cemet 3s, the fear 4s, or any yeezy sneakers because they're just a rerelease. If you don't agree with my list, it's because y'all don't play football (not American handball with people who cannot run) or you just follow hype beasts and their words on sneakers. Look beyond your comfort zone and try new things.

I can respect it being the shoe of the year, but I don't agree with it and I'll explain why; For me, shoe of the year should be about cultural impact and universal recognition. A shoe that transcends the "sneaker game" and is embraced across generations. Take the Adidas Gazelle f.e (fyi I dont own any) or some asics/new balance models... Seeing it on everyone from sneaker heads to parents and their kids, and even grandparents.. this for me highlights its versatility and cultural relevance. That kind of reach goes beyond sneaker forums or raffles.... A Sneaker of the year should resonate with everyone, not just those who follow every drop. But that's just me tho....
