Why is it dirty.? If it speaks to exactly what we experience daily...as well as this kind of music.. I dont think if you're Jamaican that you should bash any genre that originates here..while I can understand you saying you dont listen to it because it's not for you.....but speaking against it is like u being against your own......dancehall is as much a big part of Jamaican culture as this type of music but because we want to give the perception that Jamaicans are chill and cool like how this music makes you feel...but everything is a balance and also a contribution to what make sJamaican people great.....dancehall may be vulgar but that means we live in vulgarity each day as it speaks more to the everyday reality especially for the new generation.......
@thepragmatist14564 жыл бұрын

@twallace95334 жыл бұрын
@@tamip262 people underestimate the power music has. It influences mood, ideas and culture. Just singing along to lyrics the lyrics drums something into your psyche beckons it into reality. Certain dancehall music glorifies the very things that hamper Jamaican society and is a massive reason why we can't move forward in certain areas. This music perpetuates all the things that are our downfall. Why are so many Jamaicans now pale yellowy grey/translucent? Because Kartel sang about it? Literally heard so many Jamaicans say if Kartel does it they will do it too. Despite the fact bleaching is destroying them physically and more importantly mentally. If people can be that feeble minded... To say it is reality is not a good enough reason to justify the vulgarity of the music in my opinion. People can listen to and sing about whatever they want but I for one don't support it, won't listen to it and it'll never play in my house. From a Jamaican.

I keep coming back for this version, prefer it to the studio recorded version. Lila is a magical musician - songwriter, guitar player and to top it off an amazing singer.
