You have such an amazing way about you, that you actually made me WANT a typewriter of my own. I think I'd got with the Royal Companion though, as I have limited space, but love the 1930s aesthetic. As a side note; In the 1990s I owned a typewriter (I cannot for the life of me recall the make and model) and typed without notes my 10,000 word dissertation, on the Influence of Andrés Segovia on the repertoire of the Classical Guitar, on it. If my memory serves me correctly, it took 6 ribbons to complete the work.

I enjoyed this vid a lot, quiet voice, interesting banter and subject. The use of the gloves was a nice touch. I quite liked the Remington Model 7. These are before my time. The Adler was one I had new at home, circa 1970 high school. I learned to type on an Underwood in school. In the early 90's I had an early electric typewriter, a Smith-Corona. I liked it a lot too. A few years ago I sold it on eBay. A good working model is in high demand. Do you have more in your collection? I sell some vintage items in my eBay store, but no typewriters currently. They go pretty fast after they are listed, if they are in good working order. Right now I sell more candy and food items. The Golden Farms Crispy Onions are hot right now, with people getting ready to make those green bean casseroles, lol. And Pop Rocks are always popular.

Neat fact: The keypad and letter layout were purposefully designed to slow down typists which were becoming so fast that the hammers would stick and lock up.
