22:12 Due to an oversight/mistake of the devs, Gaping Dragon's grab attack grab-box activates on the first frames on it's charge attack. That's why sometimes, if you're standing next to it's right hand, it will insta grab you. It looks random as hell because it's so early in the animation that Gaping Dragon hasn't done anything yet.

Honestly if you've never tried to climb back up out of tomb of the giants (or ash lake for that matter), then you haven't faced one of the worst experiences you can in a Souls game. I can only imagine the absolute dread of a new player somehow making it all the way down to the bottom of Tomb, finding the golden fogwall, and facing the journey back up.

@@Red-Tower I haven’t faced those two experiences you described, but it sounds like the hell I experienced on my first playthrough getting cursed in the depths. I had no idea what to do, where I was (I was totally lost and kept going around in circles in the bottom levels for eons, dying over and over), where to go, etc.. It was perpetual wandering and dying constantly by a rat swiping at me one time and shit. It seems like forever until I finally got out of there (I was happy just to come across the dog where the butcher was again - a sign I was going to see sunlight again sometime soon), and it really was the best feeling ever to get that purging stone from the church bell tower!

In my first playthrough I actually went there to get the covetous silver serpent ring before I even got to anor londo. My friend told me I could do it and I couldn’t resist getting the ring so I went for it and it took me forever and I died a million times but I eventually got the ring and got back out, and I killed pinwheel while I was at it so I had the rite of kindling very early and it was so helpful. It also prepared me for when I eventually had to go there for nito. By that time the area didn’t seem scary or difficult at all, especially because I had already survived it at a much lower level

I reached anor londo and wasn't mentally prepared to fight the "hardest boss" (ornstein and smough) up to that point then I remembered about the catacombs so I went there. This achievement I think, is remarkable. Even still, the amount of times the games just goes, "get dark souls'd", is both humbling and hilarious. I wish I could tell him that the easiest way to do Bed of Chaos is to skirt the outer ledge, instead of the inner one. Stripping naked and throwing on an upgraded greatshield also makes dealing with her swipes 10x easier. My burning hatred for BoC inspired me to find a consistent method.

I love how these Dark Souls challenges went from things like "Lets beat the game dying only 100 times" or "lets try to beat the game in xx hours" to "let's beat this game using a guitar toy as a controller", "lets beat it naked without getting hit even once" or "lets beat it with a perpetually damaging ailment not even using basic items". I blame the video game industry, definitely a lack of great games in recent years.
