Hey legends, we’ve seen a lot of you asking about what happened to our van. We were going to keep it for another video but don’t want people speculating and spreading misinformation. The van had a small dent in the chassis meaning the only way to fix it would be a whole chassis replacement. We are sad about our loss, thank you for the support. ❤️

Bugger, obviously would have been a easy structural fix for a metal worker the chassis are not that complicated. Its a shame insurance companies can't go with common sense and let you repair it as a repairable write off rather than full write off. I would imagine you canopy fabricators could have repaired it with their range of skills.

Guys, sorry about the van but things happen for a reason and for whatever reason, this is what needs to happen right now. I love rewatching all the memories, ive watched you from the very beginning and forgot about so many of the epic moments you’ve had, like the fridge falling out, the storm headed for Cooper Pedy, the ball water 😂 and the huge bogging at Lucky Bay. LOL. 😂😂😂😂😂 I SO remember alll these moments!!! LOL. Since I am a gent of the older generation, I can tell you with complete assuredness that you guys WILL remember these times as your fondest! Not because they will be any more special than times you will have in the future - I know you willl both have fantastic memories ahead, especially when the kids arrive, but because those beginning times when you get to do these things together (before the kids arrive), and like you said - those beginning investments you make together- but also because you won't be able to do the same tracks and stuff with a more 'comfy' or larger replacement. So some of these spots you have been to will be perhaps the only time you get to get as close or even to those places ever again. It will be such a special memory in your minds when you are old and grey. So treasure them in your minds as much as possible. Print !!!! All the photos you made from this time as if you say, "oh I'll watch them on the computer" I can tell you, you never will. If you get them printed, you will find them in a draw years later and sit down and look through them, either alone, or together. And at that time it will bring you to tears!!! I know I've been there and done this. But this is only my seasoned advice - take it for what you will. 🤣 I do hope you get something a little larger for your personal comfort in the near future. I hope the insurance paid out!? I wish you both all my simple blessing for 2024 !

I developed a theory about retiring sentimental things from watching Ben Crop. His boat sunk in perilous conditions and he lost it, that was beva. If he had of shedded it he could have gone into it as an old man and relived the adventure, lyn too. We're too trusting of the powers that be that are in control of our fate. The best thing I found with a caravan is pulling up by the side of the road and just open the door to have it all setup for a "cuppa' it's a civilized way to be. Nothing I can really say to appease your loss. But good times will hopefully return. !!!! Good luck !!!

Any sand for us towing is 15 in the steers 12 rear and 15 in the van and we walk over every sand so far touch wood Stockton, Fraser, and a little bit of the desert sand

Awesome vid guys. I had a van they wanted to write off after hail tried to kill it. The repair guys helped me with the insurance company to increase the insured value of the van and it was repaired. Unfortunately it leaked water like a sieve after that and the repair guys vanished. Traded it in and we are happy with our newer replacement. Good luck guys 😊😊😊

You guys are super resilient! Having been bogged and stuck multiple times on trips I know how mentally and physically draining it is. A lot of people would of thrown in the towel in a lot of those situations. You guys are built different 👍

Sorry to hear about your van. An insurance company did that to my parents$45,000 van. We disputed it, and after requesting an independent repair quote (think was about $6k) that demonstrated the initial insurance assessment was very expensive. In my opinion something "smelt fishy" (the assessor was very quick to write it off and wanted to get it picked up quickly). We leveraged our rights in the policy disclosure statement (pds), I come from a contract/project management background, leveraging and understanding your contract obligations and rights is critical.

Not sure if this would’ve worked but My partner said he would’ve unhitched the van drove the car down to the harder sand and then winched the van back to the car when you were bogged at James price point 😊

I'm going to be that guy. As someone that's had their fair share of getting bogged, it's truly frustrating to see you making the same mistakes over and over. First things first, it's an underpowered Ranger drop your tyre pressures before going into sand 15psi and drive accordingly. Second, get off the loud pedal when you lose momentum. Third get the maxtrax off earlier and save yourself a lot of work. Next, use the shovel more instead of a maxtrax. Also, run in a track to compress the sand. Also check your tyre gauge is accurate, a large number of my mishaps was from an inaccurate tyre gauge that read lower than it actually was, ie reading 15psi when I was actually 23.

Lil and Jake, I have to say that I’ve really enjoyed watching you two and your adventures… but, this video highlights one negative trait that I really think needs to be mentioned, and something that you need to talk about to your fans who plan to emulate what you have achieved. For you guys, please take this as constructive criticism, and for anyone else, please think about this before you attempt to tackle any ‘tough’ situations that you may encounter. The trait I speak of is your blatant disregard for how you treat so many off-road tracks. Your failure to reduce tyre pressures (sufficiently) ‘prior’ to attempting difficult sections of track (as well as several other measures) has resulted in so many cases of destroying or severely degrading many of the tracks you have travelled on. Yes, you’ve eventually managed to get through and move on, but the carnage left behind makes it worse for everyone else behind you (creating even more damage). You have to realise that in the future (as has already occurred in many parts of the country), some areas will end up being closed to vehicles due to this type of destruction; thus it is not sustainable. Content creators such as yourself have an obligation to show and highlight how to do the right thing, and unfortunately (in my view), you have not done this very well at all (when it comes to this aspect of your content). I really hope you can address this aspect of your travels and content creation. Other than that, thanks for sharing your adventures and all the best going forward. Cheers, Kenny.

Sorry to hear about the van!! Damn. What a way to start the new year. Theres never a dull moment, is there! You sure got your moneys worth out of that van while you had it, thats for sure. I hope you get a fair price from insurance and they look after you!. In some ways it may be a blessing in disguise, your van copped such a beating and now you can start again but this time you have all the experience. Totally agree with what others have said, i think someone should sponsor you/do you a deal, because this is what sells the product, seeing it in use as advertised. You have done bluetongue a favour and provided free advertising and testing for the product for life. Because thats what we all want to know when we buy them - how do they really go offroad? Not what the broshure says. And you guys did not baby that thing so we all benefited from learning from you. Love the compilation, this was so good !! Anyway, i will say im super glad you arent stopping. When i saw the title i was like noooooo please no! You guys are my fav to watch on yt, i love watching your adventures keep up the good stuff ❤

Loved watching this episode even though it's the end of that van. One door closes but another one will open.
