My son's isn't pink but it is 💜 purple. He has loved the color for years now and never really talked about it before bcs if bullying. Took him to therapy, for many reasons, and now at 14 he owns his love for purple. He is able to just simply love the color and wear it despite the random questions he might get. We live in Mexico which is a very "macho" country so a lot of people are still very big in gendering things like color. 🙄

I didn't even know schools in the US had this jumpstart program, it sounds similar to our orientation programs in Singapore. In Singapore, whenever you go into a new school, whether it is primary, secondary, or even university, we have a similar program where the seniors plan out activities to warm the new kids up to the school and their culture. It's a great way of making friends and familiarising yourself to a new place and environment. I hope Lilia really enjoyed that program! I usually enjoy our orientation programs too 😊

I LOVE Landon’s backpack. I love the comeback that Kaden had if someone bullied him over pink/purple being his favorite color. Priceless and shows that he is being raised with an open mind and taught to accept that everyone has different likes and dislikes and that’s perfectly normal. “I was raised to be close minded “💜 The fact that all of yours and Chris’s children and Gabe and Amber ‘s children view them as extended family and can stay at the other’s house really shows that you guys are doing something right because throughout my years teaching that wasn’t something you saw very often which is sad especially for the children.

They pushed pink for girls and blue for boys and people went with it because it was "the style". Just like wedding dresses use to be Black but became white for "vanity/high class.." it was pushed black wedding dresses were "bad luck/evil" by those making profits, white was SUPER expensive.. As for high heels, it was created for men in the 15 century for soldiers to help secure their feet in the stirrups while fighting, but as we know, you don't exactly have balance on the ground (during battle)/feet would become stuck on the stirrups. Then men began using "hidden lift" shoes if they were too short. Tom cruise is a prime example of those who take advantage of it.

the way you explained the soccer thing was right. i’m in a soccer club and there are multiple divisions for tournaments and your team gets split up into that division based on skill level and travel if that makes sense. i’m in like the classic travel meaning i only travel around the state while other teams ahead of me travel all over the U.S.

The american school system is so wild to a Brit like me. The kids here in the UK just need a backpack, lunchbox and pencil case full of basic writing things. Everything else like books and folders, headphones etc are all provided by the school

With my school (it's a high school) the only thing s we need to bring on the first day of school is a pencil case full of supplies, a lunch (if I have packlunches), obviously out uniform, and our lunch cards and other bits and bobs if we want but our planners get given to us on our first day during form and our books get given to us when we first have that lesson at the start of the day.

This is so hilarious adorable! We had known that children could be cruel over girly colors. Our son have already been facing learning disabilities bullying cruelty and prejuduce/racism bullying cruelty over being white from me and Korean from his Dad who was adopted by children in school. So , we had encouraged our son to choose school items with mixture of his favorite colors from pink , purple , yellow , blue and green when he wanted pink and pale yellow school items. It had worked like charm to stop cruelty over girly colors awhile making our son happy that helped prevent any issue from happening beforehand. We had to pick and choose on standing up when comes to bullying cruelty since we were already dealing with major issues that I was having to deal with school authorities for my son's rights for safety within school system. So if we can prevent any minor issues ahead of time , we would do it by giving our son different approach to what he wanted. I have taught my son to stand up to his bullies in not giving them power over himself. When they had used asian slurs towards himself, I had told him to tell them to use Korean slurs because he is Korean not Japanese nor Chinese. It had left his bullies stunned in silence. His biggest bully had actually became one of his closest friends afterwards from elementary school to high school since he had corrected their incorrect asian slurs and he had apologized to our son. Our son's biggest bully had become his friend and supportive defender when facing other bullies. My son had graduated high school with dual diploma with honor roll and AP classes while he has Asperger Symdrome and ADHD. Thankfully, he had happily thrive in AP classes , after school clubs , jazz band and marching band playing xylophone , percussion instruments to drums around supportive teachers and students who had his back against bullies. He had self taught himself to play keyboard and piano from listening to xylophone sounds to key sounds on keyboard. Afterwards, he had gave me Mother's Day concert as surprise gift playing my favorite songs from video games. LOL , his Dad and I are both tone deaf while he has ears for tone sounds. Luckily, I had recorded his Mother's Day concert with his adorable final bows to watch it decades later from my phone that I was holding. By the way , he had done it when he was elementary student. Despite his many bullying hardships, he had love school learning experiences and he was put into advance classes in elementary school because he was too bored and unchallenged from not meeting his intelligence range within regular classes.

Heres a bit of random advice that you can ignore if you want but....if you save there school supplies over the years then you can only by the things you need next year the over the years it gets less and less that you have to buy so your saving money.
