This week on “Chasing Glory with Lilian Garcia,” Lilian sits down with the creators and producers of KAYFABE, Christy Hemme, Gail Kim, and Amy “Lita” Dumas. The trio dive into what makes this upcoming episodic content series so unique and different. They talk about the launching pad into Kayfabe and what goes into the women’s professional wrestling topics that will be discussed on the show. Unfortunately, they have received some backlash for the project and in this in-depth interview they explain the misconceptions. As pioneers for women’s wrestling, Christy, Gail, Amy, as well as Lilian talk about the DOUBLE STANDARD not just for women in wrestling but for women in ALL ASPECTS of life. It has been nearly a year since the sudden and unfortunate passing of Ashley Massaro and the three talk about how it affected them as well as having contact just before her tragic death. They speak about how they have grown since then and how they plan on reaching out to other friends that may be in similar situation. And that’s just PART ONE of this interview. I’m only now hearing about this in my social media. I wish I knew about the project sooner. It’s too bad that the vision was not more clear. I just checked the Kickstarter did not get funded. They keep repeating that people were confused. That’s the death of getting funded. I feel that if they did the rounds on the podcasts they could have raised more awareness. I agree, I think the comparison of Paige to Lita is spot on. I'm not a feminist either, but I think things were blown out of proportion when it came to Paige and her video. I also remember feeling uncomfortable as a fan watching Lita get dogged out by fans after a point. Nobody should be getting in trouble for sex tape and "slut" angles need to go away, it's tired and with what women can do in the ring it's unnecessary.
