Jock never said one word about liking or disliking Valene. He and JR took Lucy away from her so I never understood why the writers say otherwise. Especially since Gary was barely mentioned in the will.

Of the Ewings, it was Miss Ellie who liked Val. (She's the one who bought them the house in Knots Landing, when they reunited.) JR is the one who took Lucy from her, but Jock certainly went along with it. The writers should have had Gary ask Val to go to Dallas to support Miss Ellie. That would have been more realistic.

It would have been funny as hell if she HAD been mentioned in the will and Gary's inheritance was tied to her. Abby would have shit cement! All that plotting and the inheritance went to Valene. Now THAT would have been some Karma. But I am sure it made for better drama for Abby to get her hands on the money because she could do more damage with it.

In Knots Landing it's stated that Gary inherited 10 million. In Dallas it was stated that Gary inherited the same amount but it was spread out over 5 years. Which is correct?

The Dallas version. Actually, Miss Ellie gave him ten million of her money so he would have it all and not feel so humiliated. His mother explained that it the will was written when Gary was a loser, boozer and gambler.
