I'm 39 years old and never fished in my life... Thanks for this video. I now know the secrets of becoming a pro bass fisherman. This is a dream come true. I'm going to buy a boat tomorrow and start fishing. You will see me as the champion soon

Hey Gerald, it is very humbling to hear that you shared your upbringing and your dedication to the sport , I came to Canada 15 years ago with not a penny in my pocket and in July 2018 I bought me a basscat saber and I intent to fish hard , I may not make the pros but I would like to

i just watched a video of another pro fisherman, and they were like ohhh yeaa you need a greateducation, college is what you need, and Ive already decided Im not going to college. And I was like ahh frick, no ones gonna want me. Until I watched this. All I do is fish every day after school, sometimes my homework is not done, and the teacher gets mad at me. I believe people nowadays don't understand when another person has a dream, and wants to do it more then anything.
@liljeter43 жыл бұрын
Keep fishing see if you can create a high school team if there isn't one already at your school and if you change your mind about college the college teams are a great way to create relationships with companies in the business and get used to serious competition. Good luck!

If your asking your already out of the game. I fished 12 years to win my state championship. I qualified 14 times. Then I finished 3rd in the regionals. That got me an invite to fish the pro side at my expense. I spent 45k in 6mos and did fairly well. Then life took a bad turn and I spent the next 18 mos. Battling cancer. You would of thought my story would have brought out the sponsors. But ESPN as usual thought it wasn't worth enough to promote through that market nor was any other outfit. ESPN put a big stain on the industry buying B.A.S.S. and trying to steal all the members money. Yeah look back I was involved in the meetings and the walk out. BASS and espn told the grass root to literally go F@uck its self. Those were the exact words used when espn consulted the founder. Beware they will sh@t on you again.

Real talk G-Man, real talk. I don't get the "fact" when I watch your videos and you have 80K+ views and only 600 likes. Really irritating. People's choice, I get that but obviously not everyone is actually listening. I'm soaking up the knowledge. Keep it up man. 👍

I'm my field of MMA I am 100% when I say I gave a speech like this on a live video on Facebook and Instagram saying this same thing about becoming a professional MMA fighter. The truth and what it takes. No different to his fishing story. I was doing bass tournaments early on in my 20s and was training as an MMA fighter I slowed down on bass fishing because I started to become better at MMA and made more money. I think I am going to get back into BASS tournaments now that I am retired from MMA.

Still, I think BASS or FLW have toeliminate entry fees on professional level, period. If someone plays on pro team in any sport he or she gets paid no matter of what, pro-fishing is more about pushing your sponsor product, very few guys making money based on actual winning. If you on a pro trail or 20 years, please subtract 1.6mln from your winnings... Look for K-Pink article, he explained it very well.
@liljeter48 жыл бұрын
Yes I was surprised to find out how much they pay per tournament and that the sponsors dont pay for their entries for all pros
