FYI It's called Notre-Dame de la Treille and is Lille's Cathedral. But it was not under renovation. The building with different styles of architecture was built in different periods, starting from 1856 up to 1975 and the front facade of the Basilica was built in 1999, hence the modern structure of the front entrance and the metallic part of door is an interpretation of a vine trellis, not renovation work. The name of the Cathedral Notre Dame de la Treille in English, literally means Cathedral of Our Lady of the Trellis. It is a homage to the statue to the miraculous Virgin that is inside the church and stands on a gold vine trellis. base. Throughout several centuries, beginning in 1254, the Virgin is claimed to have healed the sick after they have prayed to her.

@@hollycaputowanderlust my mistake, I thought you were referring to the modern structure. I've seen a few videos where people think that the metal trellis on the door is renovation work. Great video by the way. My husband and I have been to several of the destinations you've been to and you summarize them well in your videos. Safe travels and enjoy.
