@ I was responding to comments made by the individual who pointed out all the problems facing Canada. I agree, except the cutting taxes bit. I agree there has been considerable mismanagement with government, money badly spent, but you are not going to reduce the debt by cutting taxes. Canada needs to spend plenty in border security, defense ( I'm talking billlions, if it is to meet NATO commitments). The temporary work program certainly was out of control. The debt would not have exploded if not for COVID. But it certainly saved lives. Look at the U.S. which was handled rather badly, 1.2 million people perished. As for small businesses hiring temporary workers, yes of course they want to save money, but so do their customers. I worked in food retail for many years, in the summer, customers loved their local strawberries, cheap and delicious, but non of those customers would contemplate going to work on the farm to pick them.

Carney is a proponent of Klaus Schwab's Stakeholder Capitalism which is a values-led economy. Freeland has also spoken for stakeholder capitalism. I recently listened to an excellent primer on stakeholder capitalism by Garnett Genuis online. I don't think this is the economy Canadians want or should adopt. Therefore, neither Carney nor Freeland should be given the opportunity to become PM without actually having a federal election!!!!!

Excellent, concise readout of Carney's cv. The major feather in Carney's is finding new and creative ways to the 'Net Zero' tax trough. If he gets in it will take decades to dig Canada back out again - if ever!
