I consider myself a middle class senior, I have an average house ( that I built myself) a couple of cars between my wife and my self. we started with nothing and worked to get everything we have. Trudolt thinks we're rich and tries to make us feel bad because I saved money and worked my whole life for everything I have because young people can't afford houses. To afford a house I had to move to a small town , away from my family, where I could get a good paying job. What is wealthy? Any retired person who wants to retire and live a middle class existence and is not receiving an indexed government pension needs 2 to 3 million dollars in investments, minimum. You have to assume you will live another 25 years so you need a monetary cushion to weather the ups and downs of the stock market. All those promised social programs are only going to happen with (more) borrowed money. They budget like an 18 year old with his first credit card: Max out the card, then get another card to pay off the first one.

We bought a small house as a rental in 2011 in preperation for retirement in 2022. I have never worked for government, we have no pension and now survive on about $25,000 a year in OAS and CPP. Our rental gets us another $11,000 clear per year. We mortgaged everything in order to buy the rental and susidized the rental for the first few years. It was a struggle. We didn't go on vacations and drove 20 year old cars to afford the rental house. I worked damned hard to keep that house. Now millionaire Trudy and his money grubbing minions want 60% capital gains. @@janetm2969 I am 72 years old. In good shape with no health issues. I have the great fun of thrifting for 35 years. I drive a 2005 Toyota. I have paid cash for vehicles, no car payments for 40 years. People are afraid of what others will think if they do not present a wealthy picture. I do not care what people think and my husband and I taught our children to work for what they want and we will pay for half. Fortunately our 27 and 23 old grandsons live the same way. My biggest blessing is my marriage of 54 years. He is my Red Green. Can fix anything!

I would like to see when a Judge allows a convict to be set free, that the judge first has to have the convict live at his home for 2-4 weeks. This would be a way the judge could prove that the convict is safe person to be welcomed into the community.
