I've actually been playing with the Landgraabs and am on my... fourth generation of Landgraabs descendants now! MCC Command Center made Nancy and Geoffrey have another son, but they died soon after when he was still a kid, and for some reason he was placed with a random family rather than his brother... So I made up this whole story how Malcolm resented him for making him share the inheritance and stealing his thunder, and the second son went on to be a journalist who exposed the secrets and wrongdoings of the Landgraab corporation. Also, the guy actually looked quite good, for Nancy and Geoffrey's son!

I believe the reason the Sims start to get a as you said odd jaw after the first few generations is because it would be called a Habsburg jaw. This was very common in older Royal family's when pure-bloodedness was commonplace. The chins became a distinctive feature of royalty and pure blood and right to rule (inbreeding). Honestly I don't really know if Sims had this in mind or just a weird coincidence but I thought it was a cool fact

"diverse" is a word applicable to a group of things. A single asian person is no more/less diverse than a single hispanic person. It's only when you have a group of persons with varying characteristics that you can describe it as "diverse". You can't rank the level of diverseness between two persons or things, which is what this comment does. I guess I just don't understand what the comment is trying to say. It sounds unintentionally insulting to me, really. I wouldn't think that the race of an individual would hold any weight to whether they are "diverse" or "basic", and I think the comparison makes no sense in the first place. The perspective/worldview of the commenter just seems very... unfriendly, or unfriendly to reality? I guess those are the words I'm looking for. It seems like the commenter views diversity as applicable to single units, and that the least common units within a group hold the most diverseness, and the most common units within a group hold the least diverseness, and therefore can be described as "basic". And because "basic" is normally used as an insult and the commenter uses it as a comparison against the “diverse generations”, the fact that it's being used as the antonym of "diverseness" gives me the impression that the commenter views the possession of diverseness as a positive attribute, and the possession of basicness as a negative attribute. I just don’t find this perspective very healthy, or accurate. In the case of how the commenter uses this perspective in their comment, a white person is being assigned the negative trait of basicness based on their status as belonging to a common race unit, “white”. Because of their race, they are assigned a negative trait. I do not understand this. But the comment has 100 likes, so it is obviously understood by many, as well as yourself I assume. Could you explain this to me? Have I gotten something wrong/misunderstood? I’m really lost here.

I reckon you might have interpreted the comment a bit too literally, so since you asked for an explanation here's my two cents: The terms "diverse" versus "basic" here are used in a sense that is quite far from their literal meaning. And I believe the use of these terms in the way the commenter intended stems a lot from media representation. In movies, for example, you'll see white characters being represented way more than any other race. I feel like "basic" is now a way to refer to that same old white guy you see in every movie, be the super-hero, the boy next door, the romantic good looking dude in a romcom (of course these are just examples). Whereas the term "diverse" is used here to refer to the ones who are less represented, and therefore seen as "less common", more "exotic" and "fresh" (even though, in real life, this would differ with many variants). This lack of symmetry in representation makes us believe the white guy is the basic, common, flavorless one because we are saturated with him, which is why the negative trait is associated with him, even though the word "basic" is not inherently negative. At the same time, it makes us see people of other ethnicities as the different, inovative, fresh, which are in this case positive traits. I could be wrong, but that is how I interpreted it. Your interpretation is not wrong, but it failed to consider the socio-cultural aspect of language.

I miss playing generations in sims 2... I could play the same family for hours and hours and would be so invested. I had to delete my entire save file in sims 4 and felt nothing. I need more game play 😭

Right? When I got Sims 2 I was 8 years old. I didn't know about cheats and I wasn't very good a lot of the time and my mother sim died and her children were taken away. I bawled. Anytime I lost a save or I thought I had I'd be very upset. Sims 3 was pretty much the same. I was super invested. Sims 4... I just start new games and it's like, 'eh'.

In my game I edited the relationships between Nancy Landgraab, Eliza Pancakes, and Bella Goth so that Nancy and Eliza were sisters and Bella was their cousin, so seeing Cassandra with Malcom was a bit weird for me. I also edited the relationship between Johnny Zest and the Landgraabs so that he's actually their son like it says in his bio. I'm planning on editing the Caliente family next so that Don Lothario is actually romantically involved with all three of them like it says in the family bio.

I started a new legacy with the Goth family and plan to play with them for at least 10 generations until they have a complex story. I moved them to Forgotten Hollow because I thought that was the most fitting place for them to be. Had Bella and Mortimer have another baby since Bella’s family oriented and named her Mathilde. Afterwards, Mortimer starts to seriously pursue a career in writing while Bella quits her job as a secret agent to take care of Mathilde and takes up baking. The move and family changes are hard for Cassandra though, so she uses art as an outlet. By the time she’s an adult, her painting skill is maxed and her work has made her a 3 star celebrity. I then move her to San Myshuno to further pursue her art career and she opens an art gallery where she debuts and sells her paintings. During her time there she meets Dirk Dreamer and starts a relationship with him. During Alexander’s teen years, I build skills that fit a scientist and have him become one as an adult after college. He goes on to become the Hero of Strangerville and becomes the first sim to discover Sixam. Alexander meets an alien girl while he’s there and later gets married. Cassandra also gets married and she moves to Del Sol Valley with her new husband where they live a life of luxury. Mortimer dies shortly after his children are wed but Bella’s alright because she still has Mathilde to look after and I start a graveyard in Forgotten Hollow to put all of my dead sims from this legacy. Traumatized by the death of her father, Mathilde rarely leaves the neighborhood anymore but meets Caleb and Lilith Vatore during one of her visits to Mortimer’s gravesite and befriends them. In the process she eventually discovers they’re vampires and learns a lot about vampire lore while Bella with maxed skills in cooking, gourmet cooking, and baking opens a bakery called “Bella’s Baked Goods” in Willow Creek. As an adult, Mathilde becomes particularly close to Caleb Vatore as she learns more and more about his occult and one day she just disappears leaving Bella all alone. Meanwhile, Alexander has two children with his alien wife and decides to leave the seclusion of Sixam and return to Earth with his new family taking up residence in a large modern home in Strangerville. He reconnects with Bella and she finally meets her alien grandchildren which fills the void Mortimer and her now estranged daughter Mathilde left within her. Soon after Bella has more grandchildren to look forward to when Cassandra becomes pregnant with twins. In her old age, Bella moves in with her son and spends her golden years still running her bakery and looking after her grandchildren until she finally dies peacefully surrounded by her family. Bella’s body is laid next to Mortimer’s in the Forgotten Hollow Cemetery and visited every night by her never aging daughter Mathilde and her partner Caleb Vatore. That’s where I’ve gotten so far. Trying to think of what direction to go with the new generation.

Ashley Davis: There are 2 WONDERFUL books you should read. The first is called Taking Charge Of Your Fertility. It explains every method very clearly and gives not only charts, but the actual science of things. It explains clearly the physical sign that show exactly when you're actually fertile. The second is called "Lunaception" and explains how to regulate your period using literally only a nightlight, so that you can control your cycle. I know it sounds "hokey" but I have PCOS and other issues that cause wildly irregular periods, I swear to you on my BELIEVING grandma's bible that I have personally used the Lunaception night light method for more than 25 years to regulate my cycles to a normal schedule when things get out of whack (couple times a year, on average). By controlling when you ovulate, and knowing your body's physical signs of fertility, you can greatly increase your chances of conception. Best luck to you!!

I actually ended up starting something like this, one of my sims married malcolm, they had 2 kids, and moved away to a tiny home, taking nancy with them. So far the kids are teenagers and the son fell in love with the pancakes' teenage daughter. Very neat to play with families I otherwise wouldn't even try to play with
