When for rent was announced I built a massive beach apartment and when I fond out I couldn't build apartments on beach lots I was genuinely so disappointed.

@@TwistedCyclonix there would be a mod, but sadly a mod like that exists for building basements and pools but the way maxis coded waterfront lots means it breaks the ocean routing, so sims can walk like on normal grass in the water that's in the lot boundaries :/ that's why you can't build on penthouse lots/waterfronts rentals sadly

Heres a tip for future building refrences, My studio apartment is too small for a dining table, but the kitchen is fridge, a stove and a sink, with one cabnet with a dishwasher that i set my microwave on, then in front of it, theres a long island that i use for majority of food prep. i think some people forget that its normal for houses/ apartments to not have a dining room table, but this build is still suoer cute, love it

Agree. Most new builds with one bedrooms only have island seating. My apartment could fit a dining table but would be very tight.

I think Sulani might be my favorite world in TS4--even more than Windenburgh. It's just SO beautiful and I love living on the ocean side lots. I play in it all the time. Even tho Island Living is kind of shallow gameplay wise, they nailed the aesthetics so hard that the world has been worth the price for me. And I really appreciate how the pack emphasizes Sulani as a place people actually live, not just somewhere for vacation like the previous tropical worlds in the sims. I like that they did that with Tomarang too but that world is just so small! I've found myself pretty much bouncing between playing in Sulani and playing in Mt Komorebi for the last couple years in my game and it's been SO much fun. If there's one thing the sims 4 has done way better than previous sims games, it's been getting out of just being a suburban America simulator

I did a similar build and found that Cats and Dogs surprisingly has a lot of great nautical themed decorations, like hanging buoys and whatnot. It was pretty great for a sulani beach house.

I was born and currently live in Texas and RARELY IF EVER go to the beaches. One of the reasons is because virtually none of them are wheelchair accessible and once when I tried to visit Galveston I got stuck in the sand with a previous power chair.

They start out relatively clean, but by the end of the big beach visiting months, it's a mess.

As someone who lives in Texas, you’re absolutely correct in ceiling fans being helpful. I recently moved from an apartment to a two story house without ceiling fans, and it sucks! Heat and humidity gets stuck up there, and turning on the AC just causes the second floor to be cold while the top floor stays at an okay temperature 😢

Omg! I just built rentals in sulani too (on a beach lot first before realizing i had to move it 😭) but they are detatched beach houses and i put them on the shipwreck lot by the volcano c: i added a pont tp simulate the houses going into the water but its not swimmable that way... But i felt it was fine given hom much water surrounds that place lol. Looove the vibes here 🥰

Or perhaps people can just find another lot to play with? You can still find a lot to be gorgeous, watch the video, and build one yourself that’s suited to your needs. But Kayla’s allowed to build whatever she wants, which… shocker… might include packs not everyone has. Her builds are so much better when she’s not handicapping herself to make it base game/starter budget just to please everyone else.

19:00 I'm almost certain that the camera flew into the sky because some of the "secret" controls for buy mode (resizing or raising/lowering, can't remember which) are also the same buttons for "set a camera checkpoint" and "return camera to checkpoint" so if you don't hold down Ctrl or whatever every time, the camera will just fly to wherever you last used those controls

They really need to let you split up more lots into different types like a bar lot with a residential rental above it. But while I recognize that might be complicated, I think it would be simple enough to make vacation rentals a multi-unit lot like residential so that builds like this could be split into three vacation houses.

I wish I could make the apartments in San myshuno residential rentals as well specifically the penthouses. That one giant penthouse with the basketball court could definitely have 2 or 3 two story units with a shared outdoor/pool area and a elevator lobby room
