I was going to say the same. "Mistake" can be so many different things. I feel like adjusting the build isn't a "mistake". It's just realizing you didn't want that. Like putting down walls and realizing you don't want them there isn't a mistake. A mistake is when you meant to do something and didn't do it. Like if I meant to place a fridge in an exact spot and accidentally misclicked somewhere else. That's a mistake.

The way I would have done this particular challenge is "whenever you feel the need to click the undo button, click the bulldoze button instead." So I could still move things around sometimes and save myself a bit of sanity. Like a tiny bit.

The thing I would have done for this challenge is just not bulldoze.. it doesn't do anything but waste time. Since there's no rule against just rebuilding *exactly* what you just had, all it's doing is wasting your time. You can bulldoze, replace everything exactly as it was, and just continue on. Now if it was like "If you make a mistake you have to reroll the challenge" that'd be infuriating and make you not want to make a mistake. However, "mistake" is also extremely vague.

Maybe it's open to interpretation but my understanding of "your budget for this build is 37112 simoleons exactly" was that you had to use that exact amount of money, not any more or less, but maybe it was left open on purpose so that people can give themselves that extra challenge if they want to.

No you’re right, Plumbella herself said you’re supposed to try to use the exact amount if you can manage it or close to it. I think she still had 5,000+ simoleons which by technicality means she failed the challenge even though the house ended up super cute 😭

That is not stated whatsoever. If you give yourself a budget of $37k to renovate your house you aren't looking to spend every single cent. IN fact, the more you save the happier you are. A budget is your max. Like if I say I have a budget of $500 for food and I spend $300 I'm not going to be like "I FAILED MY BUDGET!!" The way the challenge is worded it's simply saying "You have exactly $37,112 to spend" the 'exactly' here is saying you have that specific amount. It doesn't say "You must spend exactly $37,112."

The challenge says: "Your budget for this build is 37112 simoleons exactly." The use of "exactly" here isn't saying you need to spend exactly that much nor does the word "budget" mean that either. The way this is worded is saying the budget is 37112 exactly as in exactly that number nothing more or less. A budget isn't "You must spend 37112" it's just your max. If Plumbella really wanted it so you spend every single bit then it should have been worded as: "You must spend exactly 37112 simoleons." I know she made a video on it and she explained it there but saying one thing then writing another for the actual challenge makes it worse. Writing is going to be taken more seriously. For an example of everything.. if you budget exactly $530 for food but only spend $300 you're not going to cry that you failed your budget. A budget is your max and spending under that is *good*.
