HOW TO PLAY TOM AND JERRY IN MULTIVERSUS (Guide)

Some tips: You cannot reflect 3 balls at once, the timing does not line up. You can however reflect 2 balls at the same time by starting to charge your nlight RIGHT as the second ball hits the top of the arc. You can also time it by waiting for the first ball to be ever slightly behind you when you release the attack to reflect them both, but I find the first method most consistent. I also recommend jumping and drifting forward/back while charging, you can vary your timing by doing this to throw ppl off. Nlight also will reflect essentially any projectile in the game with the exception of Bugs safe and Bugs rocket. You can get a good true combo by doing shorthop dair into shorthop neutral special (make sure to aim it at your feet though, otherwise it wont connect.) Obv youll get attack decay so you can end the combo with a Sair, or uptilt into Upair. - this also is very hard to hit consistently, but def his best combo. I would recommend practicing this combo at 20% on a bot since hitting it at 0 can be difficult. The reason this combo works is bc when you shoot jerry from your slingshot, he actually has a hitbox, meaning you can knock ppl down and back. dair combos into most of TJ's moves raw dair on stage is a good kill option, but you can also kill with uptilt into upair. (sweetspot upair kills quite well, sourspot not so much - the sweet spot is right in between the two lids, above toms head) uptilt dair also works reflecting down special with the dynamite perk can be used to reclaim the edge if youve been edgeguarded, to make space for either approaching or keep away game, or just for some free damage since it will cover a large area. You can also use it as an edgeguard to cover lots of options. I would recommend using side special as an edge guarding tool since if you hit it it will provide vertical knockback into a potential cheese kill off the top, though I wouldnt rely on it too much. And of course my recommended perks: - Dynamite Split - Triple Jump - Ice to Beat You - Last choice is a toss up for what you want, I personally run something like Up Up A Slay/Snowball Effect/Painted Target, though options like I Dodge You Dodge We Dodge or Coffeezilla work. Like I said, last choice is yours. TJ is one of the highest skill cap characters, don't beat yourself up if you can't get something to work first try. Practice makes perfect!

I think you're sleeping on that fishing rod. When your opponents are trying to dash in on your from the air, which is super common, it bats them away brilliantly. It isn't great for fighting grounded opponents, but it is potent in ground-to-air combat.

Im only about halfway through the vid but i have some tips and things to know about TJ. 1. You can use Jerrys rocket to hit Tom as well. You don't take damage but could be useful idk. 2. Jerry will attack towards tom for neutral attacks and what every way tom is facing for side attacks 3. if someone it trying to kill jerry use his attacks 4. you can pick up jerry with the fishing rod 5. double dynamite is better than one but you still have the longer cooldown. 6. if jerry is out you can use toms up special and the rocket will go to jerry. This works in air and ground. The rocket will pass through platforms. 7. in toms up air the sweet spot is where jerry is. 8. Tennis ball and jerry's corks will become on fire if they pass through fire. Idk everything this does but it does increase damage. 9. if overwhelmed you can use toms paddle to trap the enemy team . 10. JERRY WILL BOUNCE OFF THE SIDES OF PLATFORMS 11. Toms mouse trap counts as a projectile. This is handy for perks. 12 Its good to set play the mouse trap. not as likely bc its easy to see but still useful and leads to crazy kills. 13, jerry is a good edge guard with his 3 corks while your spamming down air 😂 Something to note TJ is a mage so if you’re relying on their melee attacks they are likely to get nerfed in the future. I will edit this as needed.

for the sweet spot it mainly happens after the initial hitbox, so if you use the move and fast fall while in animation you can hit it easier.

You’re so right about the spacing thing against shaggy and Finn players I once won a match by time out cause the shaggy player was spamming the side special over and over chasing me down and killing Jerry any time he was away from Tom I finally decided on staying away from him and punishing when he tried to rush cause getting close was difficult especially as Tom and Jerry whenever he stopped rushing I just stood there and he would get impatient and try again eventually led to him losing a stock and later losing the game to time out. So yeah sometimes without Jerry to help you against rush down characters maybe consider running away.

Smth I believe you didnt mention here: When shooting the ball towards Jerry, he can hit enemies on top of/in front of him. This feels to me like it's better for enemies on the ground, but all the same, it's seems like it could be a real good tool to catch enemies off gaurd (especially since you can throw a ball to Jerry from anywhere on the map)

If you win and get toasted you’ll earn around 30-40 in 1v1 if you toast everyone in 2v2 and get toasted back you’ll get at least 60-80 coins

I never noticed the balls did damage even before Tom hits them. Between the lack of hitstun and Garnet's dance not stopping them, I just assumed they were intangible until struck.
