Im one of the biggest wayne fans but Im scared for this album release. Of course he may sell alot and go platinum. I don't care for that but Im just hoping for a good album like Carter 1-3. This Carter 5 album doesn't look like its going to be like that. Wayne said this is the hardest he ever worked on album. That may be true but the hit songs for this album are nowhere as good as the previous carters. This Grindin song is wack to me and so was Krazy... But "Believe me" and "Dusse" was dope. Anybody remember how much hype the previous 3 carters had till release ? Carter 5 , they aren't doing anything to promote it heavy. In 2011 the day before Carter 4 release Wayne was performing how to love and john at the VMA'S. He also came out with sorry for the wait and MTV james had a "Lil wayne day" to get ready for the Carter 4 release. Maybe Wayne will surprise us with some good songs with meaning or and slick wordplay. Cause so far out of the 4 songs I know. I only like 2. Any wayne fan know this Carter 5 doesn't have the same feeling as the other ones.

Lil Wayne definitely has his own style. A lot of rappers sound the same, trying to sound like Tupac or Eminem - and then you got Drake trying as hard as he can to sound like Lil Wayne but nobody sounds like Lil Wayne. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
@droomzy10 жыл бұрын
Let's be honest: Lil Wayne deserves credit. He's teamed up with dozens of others and has dropped so many witty lines and his career isn't close to coming to an end... Take a second and let it sink in that Wayne has teamed up with Jay, Em, Kanye, T.I., Nas, Beyonce, Usher, Keyshia Cole, Diddy, Mary J. Blige, Kelly Rowland, Busta Rhymes, Andre 3000, Tech N9ne, Bun B, Game, Madonna, Snoop Dogg, Akon, Chris, Drake, Nicki, The Weeknd, Pharrell.....Who else has teamed up with all these people with more to come? Nobody.

In their eyes. I think he was pretty decent for a time, but that was when i was exposed to very little amounts of rap and when I was in middle school, plus when he was earlier in his career. Every now and then he releases something good but overall I feel like he just rides his previous success. Regardless, my distaste and others' distaste does not necessarily make him bad. Point made.
