My personal move away from “natural skincare” as an acne sufferer was realizing that most of them have Shea butter which my skin literally cannot handle without a next day breakout. Natural isn’t the end all be all! Also thank you for introducing me to the wonders of retinol, I’ve been using it for a couple months and it’s absolutely began to heal scarring from my teen years I never thought I’d get rid of

missgoddess like Susan has said many times, most people can not tolerate coconut oil and makeup wipes are rough on the skin. It also appears that she doesn’t wash her face in this routine so her skin isn’t benefitting from the products she uses. Lily is a truly stunning woman and I’m sure she must do things differently IRL to look as radiant as she does. I do hope I’ve answered your query.

the problem is that it's not a cleanser, since it is an oil, which creates an occlusive barrier and it can't just be washed of if you go in with water afterwards. So it does not work as a cleanser, neither can it be used as a moisturizer as it again, just creates a barrier and doesn't give you any moisture. Oils can be used in skincare, for example tea tree oil to calm redness and acne on targeted areas, rosehip oil etc. They are first of all much thinner than coconut oil, especially if it's not refined coconut oil, and those commercial facial oils can be used on top of a good moisturizer to keep in the moisture from the moisturizer. Basically, you can smear pork fat on your face and it would be the same as coconut oil lol
@trashbin101
@trashbin101 4 жыл бұрын
@@Laura-vs6fs How about if you actually use CO it as a first cleanse? And then go in with a proper water based cleanser? Because I do use it for the purpose of occlusion (and not as a first cleanse) After moisturiser, that is.

Susan I’m really curious about a deep dive vid on coconut oil and essential oils/ ingredients derived from these. I’ve been told before that coconut oil can be noncomedogenic if sourced and pressed correctly. I’ve also been told that essential oils can have their best effect when sourced properly and made properly. I want to if any of that is true, a hoax, and how the average consumer would be able to tell the difference. I’m one of those people who can not only take coconut oil and shea butter on my face but need to during the winter sometimes, no matter how thick/hydrating/moisturizing a night or day cream can be. I have super dry skin and eczema (excluding the face).

What do you think about using coconut oil (just a regular cold pressed one) to melt your makeup off but then washing the oil off and washing your face with a face wash?

Six months ago I had skin cancer removed from my forehead, yikes. Now I am terrified to use vitamin C , retinal, or dark spot treatments. I am going on vacation this summer and don't want all of these active ingredients to make my skin more susceptible to the sun. Is there a nice smoothing serum I can use that won't mess with my microbiome?

Check out Tropic skincare. It's excellent and the customer service is first class, they'll be more than happy to help you find what you're looking for. Glad you got your skin treated on time, good luck finding a regime that suits xx

Did your dermatologist tell you to avoid them? I think there are some studies that suddest retinoids prevent cancer. I think elizabeth arden has a line with skin cancer preventing ingredients but I cannot remember what its called. Do you know about preventatives? As far as serums look into white tea, green tea, they help. I love Goldfaden vital boost, it really brightens. Maybe rosehip oil at night, it contains vitamins but not in concentrated form.

Im so confused in Minute 17:19. This Weleda stuff. In germany it’s a Natural brand and is really affordable. You can buy this in stores like “dm Deutschland” and “rossmann”. These are stores where you can get toilet paper, makeup, hair brushes and all this stuff 🤔 what confection does the mentioned woman have with this brand? Or maybe I misunderstood 😂 English isn’t my first language :D

To add to your "natural" comment, the way I associate when people mention 'natural" products is actually to "cruelty free" too for some reason so perhaps something to keep in mind

I love what you said about natural vs not. I would loooove to do natural BUT I CANNOT do saffron and safflower nor coconut oil in "natural" or "clean" products. I breakout so bad. My skin actually takes nice to things without it. Those 2 are put into a lot of products considered better for you. Pineapple and apricot breaks me out too :(

Meanwhile I have never seen such even toned flawless skin on a 34 year old ever. He skin looks like she has foundation on (and I don't mean residue left over after "cleansing") I had to check on something, because I seem to remember her having a face full of pigmentation in the way of freckles and she did. Maybe she has had a chemical peel or two, since this photo, because peel pads would never eliminate that level of freckling, giving her that kind of even tone like foundation would!!! What do you think would do this for freckled skin Susan, is that the work or peels or laser treatments?

3:20!!!!!!! OMG !!!!!!!1 I can't even!! I do admire Susan so much, she truly is an angel. If I were doing this thing, when she said "wipes, with coconut oil" I wouldve done the same as that reaction gif where the lady pushes the table with the laptop, gets up, and leaves.
