@Laura-vs6fs4 жыл бұрын
the problem is that it's not a cleanser, since it is an oil, which creates an occlusive barrier and it can't just be washed of if you go in with water afterwards. So it does not work as a cleanser, neither can it be used as a moisturizer as it again, just creates a barrier and doesn't give you any moisture. Oils can be used in skincare, for example tea tree oil to calm redness and acne on targeted areas, rosehip oil etc. They are first of all much thinner than coconut oil, especially if it's not refined coconut oil, and those commercial facial oils can be used on top of a good moisturizer to keep in the moisture from the moisturizer. Basically, you can smear pork fat on your face and it would be the same as coconut oil lol
@trashbin1014 жыл бұрын
@@Laura-vs6fs How about if you actually use CO it as a first cleanse? And then go in with a proper water based cleanser? Because I do use it for the purpose of occlusion (and not as a first cleanse) After moisturiser, that is.

Susan I’m really curious about a deep dive vid on coconut oil and essential oils/ ingredients derived from these. I’ve been told before that coconut oil can be noncomedogenic if sourced and pressed correctly. I’ve also been told that essential oils can have their best effect when sourced properly and made properly. I want to if any of that is true, a hoax, and how the average consumer would be able to tell the difference. I’m one of those people who can not only take coconut oil and shea butter on my face but need to during the winter sometimes, no matter how thick/hydrating/moisturizing a night or day cream can be. I have super dry skin and eczema (excluding the face).
