LJ Young you could be having breakouts bc your skin is purging. When you use retin-a creams they brings the acne already under your skin to the surface. The purging process usually takes 6 weeks.

jessily0425 are your scars deep? I don’t have very deep acne scarring, it’s more post inflammitory hyperpigmentation. I have had 4 microneedling treatments (with the dermapen) which helped them fade. Microneedling works very well on acne scarring as well! Look up some before/afters. I have no idea how much it costs in your country. In the Netherlands (Holland) i paid 120 euro’s per treatment.

Please never feel self conscious of what you’re putting out there. You are your own biggest critic going by this video which is respectable and Its great you did this video to back yourself and explain what you felt you needed to, but remember when you’re taking in these granular detail comments on these videos that are huge milestones for you, these people are lucky to have the service you’re providing, so forget the invisible lines on your face that the people not looking for them can’t see, and the worry that you’re addressing focus on post-baby care too much, because all that matters is skin health is a better community with you in it! You might benefit from using reusable(washable!!) cotton rounds. I got mine from amazon for $10 and they don’t absorb my toners when I use them. The ones I have have a very soft side and a slightly exfoliating side that’s still pretty soft.

Absolutely. Pregnancy takes its toll on your skin. I had my son then have both to my daughter 14 months later. I felt like I was pregnant for 2 years straight. My daughter is 1 now and my skin is just now starting to get close to being normal. Same with my body. It’s wild how much our body goes trough during pregnancy. It’s amazing though too! ❤️

I have dry skin, slight rosacea on my cheeks, and a lot of texture on my forehead and cheekbones. I ended up purchasing the DE retinoid from your video, and I’d also purchased the Biossance Lactic Acid. I’ve been using the LA, haven’t touched the Retinoid YET- and I’m wondering what you recommend I do. Do you think it would be OK to use both products if I only use them in separate areas on my face? I just really want to get fix the texture 😩 and I can’t afford to do any treatments for it at the moment!

I don't think you should regret what you did for the first cleanse. You showed not just one, but two balms you use. But then you did a micellar water because you know people are using them and you showed how to properly get makeup off with using them. I think you covered everything! ❤

I love that you are like: i will only use the retinol once a week in the beginning. As i bought my first retinol (not so long ago), the shopkeeper wanted me to use it 3 times a week...and i was like - no. I want to use it once/twice/thrice a week before i got to every second day now. With Retinol 0.5%. She was like you will get red and so on in the beginning. Through slowly easing into it, i had absolutely no problems. Now I want to highen up my game with Retinol 1% from the Ordinary, bc my skin really likes the Retinol. It even controls my acne breakouts in ways i never though possible. How often would you suggest to use Retinol in a week?

What would your advice be for someone with a beard and chest hair? Sometimes I will try to put actives on my beard but I feel as if it's just wasting the products, same with moisturizers. Should I use a larger amount when I apply ingredients to that area? I have a relatively short beard.

I was actually nervous for you on this video! Haha! I understand where you're coming from with the post pregnancy talk! That first year EVERYTHING is different and healing, in your body and your life in general. Those of us who have been there get it! And I love that you have a "real" face without a ton of botox or fillers. Sure they can really enhance your face (and i'm not opposed to getting them in the future in an area I would like to improve), but to look real with a few dark areas or small wrinkles is more beautiful IMO!

lauras. zone lots of people, estheticians and derms, suggest not to wash your face in the morning. And just start the day with moisturizer and spf. I go case by case. Depending on how my skin is feeling and looking. Sometimes I wake up and my skin is dewy but not too oily so I go ahead and not wash. But when I seal my nighttime products with oils, which isn’t often, I usually prefer to wash my face clean in the morning

Susan, I need to know what you do for those really bomb mascaras that are just a pain to get off. I have a mascara that I love and my oil cleanse gets most of it off but I’m still waking up with a little bit of mascara running down my face. I do the pharmacy balm and then la Roche pose gentle cleanser but I still have just a bit left! I generally will just lightly hit my under eye with some micellar water or even *gasp* a makeup wipe. Hey Susan! Love the video! I have a question about salicylic acid - I heard that it shouldn't be used on the neck area. I'm using a 2% salicylic acid gel on my face and it helps a lot with facial acne, but I get painful acne on my neck and I'm not sure how to treat that if I can't get the acid on my neck. I do continue the rest of my routine to my neck (cleansing, moisturizer, sunscreen), but it's not really improving the state of my acne. Any advice? Thanks!
