Loosing my sister 💔 and rewatching our show crimal minds which was one of her favs! I go back to this song and oh how it reminds me of her .and the hikes and walks and bike rides and being by the water. It speaks to me on a whole different level. She was my sister and my best friend. She barely turned 21 and was taken away from this world. I believe everything has a reason but man am I still having a hard time with loosing my sister. I know I will forever. But she'll live on forever in my heart and my thoughts and here right now as I close my eyes listening to this song . Holding back tears to the best of my ability. I cannot tell you what this music video and the imagery in it means to me ... Almost exactly 4 years ago I lost my dearest friend in a horrific, senseless accident. He was fulfilling his dream (his 50th birthday present to himself) to ride his bicycle across Canada and back again ... When he was just 60 kilometers from the east coast of Canada he was hit from behind while cycling and killed instantly by an 80 year old drunk driver who fell asleep at the wheel at 2 in the afternoon ... I was watching an episode of Criminal Minds a couple of years ago and heard the song by Lily Kershaw called Ashes Like Snow. After the show I searched her on KZbin and listened to it over and over thinking of my friend ... I loved her voice and clicked on this song ... The song is awesome but even more than that I could not believe the imagery of this music video. It hit so close to home that I had to stop it for a while before I could watch the whole thing. The hat in the beginning is exactly the hat he used to wear all the time and was his trademark ... I wish I could post a picture of him here wearing it! The broken bicycle with the wheel spinning and at the end the other free wheel ending up in the ocean ... He was so close to the east coast when he was killed ... when I saw this video I knew his soul it all the way to the ocean. He had a hard life but was on top of the world when he died fulfilling his dream and he was just about to put his feet in the ocean then turn around and cycle back across Canada to rejoin his fiancee and start on the next, and best chapter of his life. He was an amazing person and 4 years later is still sorely missed ... thank you for producing this video ... it is eerie how close it hits home!
