Very lovely knot design! You could make a chain too, if you turned the knot loops straight instead of to the sides. I'm going to try this out for a chain design. I love it! Its hard to find chunky copper chains for pendants, this one is a beauty, especially with the crisp edges of the square wire. Thanks Theresa! Great stuff. I think to measure out my wires, I will make a mock version with string or plastic tubing.

Gorgeous! Great tutorial! Looks a bit beyond what I'll be able to do with the arthritis in my hands since a lot of the wire manipulation of the main elements are done by hand without pliers. But maybe I can do a few at a time and take a few days to make it. TFS!
@LilyTree7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Michelle! You might be able to use pliers to manipulate the wire instead, and you could try using 0.8mm diameter wire rather than 1mm, which should be a bit softer and easier to shape. I hope it works for you!

H. Love your videos. For those of us ‘across the pond’, can you also possibly give us the actual wire gauge in your materials section? , We don’t usually reference wire in mm, so much as wire gauge, so that 1mm wire is 18g wire, etc. Otherwise I’m having to hunt around to find out what gauge wire to use. Thx so much!

This is beautiful! Can 20 gauge wire be used instead of 18 gauge (1mm)? Or do you need the 1mm to make the knot stay together correctly?

Hi Teresa, we can't buy liver of sulphur in Ireland, and as it is deemed a hazardous material, suppliers won't ship here. do you know of any alternative to oxidise the copper please? Love all your tutorials, thanks for sharing x
@LilyTree7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Savenana! There is a way to patina without liver of sulphur - using eggs! I've just uploaded a video about it at kzbin.info/www/bejne/panOlmqEgdF5jZY 😃

hola, me acabo de encontrar sus videos y están hermosos, quisiera saber como hace para que el alambre no se ponga oscuro, gracias :-)
@LilyTree8 жыл бұрын
¡Gracias!

Lily tree, can you tell me the wire conversion in American gauges. Love all your work. what would be 1mm diameter and 0.9mm diameter.
@LilyTree7 жыл бұрын
I believe that 1mm wire is the equivalent of 18 gauge, and 0.9mm wire is 19 gauge. I have a wire conversion chart for reference on my blog at www.createwithcopper.co.uk/single-post/2016/09/14/Wire-basics . I hope that helps!

Is your wire half hard?
@LilyTree8 жыл бұрын
Hi Vickie, I tend to get my wire as dead soft, then work harden as necessary. For this particular piece, softer is better as you can make a tighter knot with it. If you then want the links to be a bit harder, you can hammer the knots lightly once made.
@lindag36507 жыл бұрын
I like your jewelry very much, but I don't know how to use your English measurements to turn them into American measurements. Can you please tell us Americans measurements too
@LilyTree7 жыл бұрын
Sorry about that. I do include wire gauges in my newer videos, and will add them to the descriptions for my older vids when I get a bit of time. For lengths, it's a bit more difficult as inch increments are not quite as accurate as millimetres, but if you need a rough guide, divide centimetres by 2.5 to get inches. And for the wire weaving, the reason you'll hear me quote 1.5 metres of weaving wire a lot is because it is a full arms width (both arms outstretched) for me - and yes, this is how I measure it! 😄
