Have you taken a food tour? What's been your favorite city to explore by flavor?

Hi any leads on good food tours in Arequipa and or Cusco. We will be there in the next couple weeks and want to do it justice. As a culinary anthropologist, I am so looking forward to this food culture. We are so excited to be in Peru next month and film it for our channel. Machu Picchu is #1 on my bucket list. We are a father and son who travel the World to plant trees, clean beaches and teach people about culture, history, and natural wonders. Glad to find your stuff and hope you might like ours too. - Bear

Hey guys, what a cool channel you have. Love the way you travel and share from a place that’s truly connected with the destination. For Cusco either Curious Monkey food tours or a cooking class at Marcelo Batata will give you great insight into Peru’s culinary history. You may end up covering some of the same in Arequipa so I would suggest wandering, talking to the locals and compiling a list of must-try dishes that you incorporate into your meals. Arequipa has some of the best food around, make sure you try: rocoto relleno, adobo, ocopa, chupe de camarones, and queso helado for starters. Have a wonderful stay in Peru! - Sam

Can you explain please. How long does it last? Does it go from place to place? We’ll be there the 29 and 30th of this month then to Cusco.

Absolutely! We offer a morning tour and an evening tour, both last approximately 5 hrs. We move between different neighborhoods of Lima to highlight the city’s eclectic and varied corners while visiting different culinary stops. The AM route covers organic coffee, a local market and fruit tasting, a cooking and cocktail class and a tasting menu within an archeological complex (Huaca Pucllana). The PM route starts with sunset cocktails beachside, and features exclusive tastings from creative local chefs with some hands-on and interactive features. Through the food we talk about culture, tradition, history and the evolution of Peru. You can find all the details and reserve directly through the site: www.limagourmetcompany.com. Have a great trip! 🍋💛
