Thank you for this tutorial ! I'm a audio engineer from germany and at the moment I'm working on a game project. It's my first time using wwise so I have to teach the software to myself... In this limbo project, all sound events are already linked to interaction in the game.. my question is, how do I create this connection between the audio files and the interaction in the game which triggers the events? maybe you can make a tutorial with a blank project setting up the sounds and their integretaion to a game ? If you would send me a message with a few advices it would help me a lot! Greetings from germany ! (i hope my english is good enough to understand my matter of concern)

Hello M. Davis! I'm glad this video could be of some help. Your English is great! To actually get Wwise integrated within an engine, you must have some programming skills. The events within wise are tied to parameters/coded variables. I don't pretend to understand the full magic that binds Wwise into games, but its not that hard from what I understand from a programmer's perspective. I only know basic programming at best :( What I can do is give you link on how to get Wwise talking with Unity! chrisprunotto.wordpress.com/2013/08/16/how-to-integrate-wwise-into-unity/ Unfortunately, I do not have the answers you seek. I've never had to create an event from scratch, just messing with Limbo and some Wwise demos. In time, I'll know these things and will create another tutorial that'll cover that!

M. Davis Hey M.Davies, I'm currently studying music technology in university and I'm in my final year. I would love to develop music for games. Do you have any advice in how to get in the industry? thanks, Justin

First off, really good video! However, I cant seem to play any of the red highlighted sounds, even if I deselect the "original" button. I added my own sounds, which turn blue, and those I can play in the preview. I generated a soundbank and it said "with FATAL errors" and none of my replaced jump sounds seem to be triggering. Most of my errors are red like yours with the ID "32", except one "33" error and at the bottom there is a "29" ID error that says "custom post-generation executable returned error id1" and then talks about my file path. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Why does this not work with OSX?
@WillDelish9 жыл бұрын
Mainly I think it has to do with Wwise using a wine skin? Some have said they got Limbo working on OSX with wine but dunno how stable/buggy it is

+Manuel Silva Sometimes there are bugs where sounds just wont play at all I noticed, but do you hear them in game? What operating system are you using?

+Manuel Silva Make sure you have the correct output for the sound, go to audio menu and if you want it to come out of your computer speakers select 'stereo channel configuration.'
