This is it, I finally found it. Man, all those years, 15 in all.. The circle is complete.. This is a great track - Through Gleams of Death! Never knew who the band was - Limbonic Art - tried finding them among so many others, so many great bands, and it just wasn't them.. untill now! Great!! Listen to that music going out in the end - it's like the sun glittering in Constantinobel, when it stood with towers of gold - it's like fireworks..!!

Daemon of Limbonic Art would drop by at Helvete run by Euronymous and probably there he got to know new stuff outside of metal. It's known that Euronymous tried to pass Electronic music from the 70's on to many people within the scene, but only a few liked it such as Ivar of Enslaved and Kristoffer Rygg of Ulver. Here's what Daemon said in an interview ''"I personally knew Euronymous when he was still alive. I was several times at his record shop called “Helvete”. He once played the album “De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas” for me without the vocals. It was after the suicide of Dead but before the arrival of Attila. I was completely possessed by this title track. And then finally they were able to record the vocals, and the album was complete. When Limbonic Art were asked to do a Mayhem cover song on this tribute some years later. It was an incredible honour to play exactly that song."

I don't know if this is what the band had in mind when they came up with the album title, but "Moon in the Scorpio" is also a reference to the proper astrological time for working baneful magic, at least according to some grimoires. From the Greater Key of Solomon, Book 1, Chap 2 (Of the Days and Hours and of the Virtues of the Planets): "For hatred, discord and destruction the Moon should be in a Watery sign - Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces."

I find that the best music usually takes a few listens to really sink in. Songs I like immediately are also songs that I tend to not like for very long. Albums that take several listens to click are always the best and never leave the library. This is definitely one of those albums. I think I'm on my third listen and tonight I realized that this has got to be one of the greatest albums of all time. One of the best openings of all time too. Are their other albums just as good?

Comparing these guys to other bands is like comparing the colors black and white. These guys where known for their big keyboards. They where known as the masters of the synth in many interviews. (A title given to them, not self proclaimed) Key boards where in the front while guitars where in the background. That reason alone led to the musical differences between the two. But nobody sounded like these guys. The only band i can say sounded similar in key board sound was the album In Times Before The Light by Kovenent 1996 The original recording. I still have this album along with epitome of illusions and ad noctum.

this is the greatest and the mightiest symphonic black metal album of ALL times. there is no other this powerful and sophisticated album in the history of metal music. Except Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk of course :) which is even more greatest and mightiest.

Dude, the feels... I remember listening to this, to Master's Hammer, Steherial's 'Nord', Kvist, etc... Magical times to be a teen in the mid nineties. I even made a few fanzines when I was about 15-16. I'm 38 now :-/ The good news is that I am a graphic designer for a big metal magazine now, so the circle is (getting) kind of complete. Thanks for the incredible records. (I believe I saw them live here in Belgium too somewhere around 2001 or something)
