Actually, its not quite that. There's 2 things Telepole represents (though as you may guess this is not confirmed). One of them is impulsivity, which is what electricity represents when it comes to Abnormalities/Distortions (as seen in Distortion Detective) and why it is charge related. This is why both Don and Heathcliff have it. They both favour acting without thinking much. The other things it seems to represent is acting not out of your own will, but something else. This can be just impulse/instinct, like with Don and Heathcliff, but it can be something else entirely too, like with Faust. We can see this with how the Abnormality is described as not having a will of its own but rather moving solely due to the electricity in it, and it's preference for sloth in most of it's basic attacks. Why, then, is the EGO Envy? Envy is inferiority, so it probably simply is a matter that without the electricity/impulsivity, it is quite literally nothing. This is also why charge is associated with envy. Charge units, without charge, are nothing

To be fair it made perfect sense why he distorted. I'll add some context with Ishmael first. in Ishmael's case her expectations were fllipped cuz all her "dead crew" were okay and her revenge was basically pointless outside of her blind obsession against ahag. Ishmael was not in her "lowest state" but her goal was right in front of her... which made her insane, but you can see her sane side talk everytime she interacted with queequeg. she had some sanity but she kept fluctuating as dante mentioned a few times. In heath's case, he was emotionally stable somewhat pre canto 6. but now he dipped hard after his love died, his best friend's death news, linton did marry his love, and he tasted what it feels like to kill his own self(imo this is very important and is also overlooked ). Keep in mind all of those happened in a short span. Not enough pain in the world can make things worse for him now and as distortions happen, they occur at the absolute worst point of a person's life

Let's say the song theme of this game is "In hell we live lament". This is not a joy ride. Even if this is a gacha game, this is not about romancing the other characters and get fan services. It is about pain and trying to face your future, even if that mean dying from it. The gameplay go from 6/10 to a 7/10 in good fight. But the story is a 10/10. Each part is called a Canto and for now, there is 6 of them. And each time it get better. (except maybe Canto 2. The part is good but there is a lot less feeling in that one) Anyways, sorry for spamming you with that lol
