Do note that Rodya is *not* a charge unit, Courier Trunk is not a Unique Charge and she doesn't have any interactions with charge from what we've seen. She *is* a ramping unit much like the Charge architype. I really hope we can play her as a risk reward unit trying to keep her alive for as long as possible to get the most out of her, like DawnSinclair but health instead of SP.

@@LyinghoIn her case, rupture only gives her coin power and a coin recycle on her S3, and only the latter is exclusive to rupture. It’s definitively good, but I imagine the former is more meant to help her early on in a fight against a single target while she’s limited to a single skill slot, while the latter is more just additional payoff to a well put-together rupture team. Her main reliance for damage, though, should be on her bonus damage based on trunk on self. From how I interpret it, it seems like she’s meant to be the damage dealer for a rupture team, but one who isn’t reliant on a rupture stack for damage. Good for when there are too many targets to focus on, while also gradually building herself up stronger to face off against a boss enemy after sweeping through fodder.

Looking at her kit, I have the impression that she’s a high risk low reward id. It will be much better if she gains coin power or at least final power with that much drawbacks. And honestly, she contributes nothing to rupture team. She’s like dieci rodyon, consumes lots of counts, but at least dieci has s3 and rimeshark.

Rupture is also still pretty set too from Canto 4, Canto 5 was definitely the Season of Bleed+Poise, Canto 6 is the Season of Sinking with some major Tremor additions, and Charge has been steady even before the three additions. Here's hoping that the Devyat are only a side-thing, cause we really need a Season of Burn. May it be the bloodfiend hunters' answer to the bloodfiends' bleed.

@@vadandrumist1670 I don't imagine we'll get too much burn? Honestly bleed needs support because while we have strong bleed IDs/EGOs, we don't have enough bleed support as a status. What I imagine is we'll get Bleed, some Rupture and some Burn hopefully. But while burn could use more IDs, it has really strong ones that don't really need gifts to stack up since burn consumes only once a turn. What would be great is a burn deluge though, something to consume some burn for damage instead of having it do damage only once a turn.

One thing that no one here is considering is that because of her hp draining effects, they probably gave her a good amount of max hp, and if that max hp is at least more than Seven Association Outis, than she'll be the best option for Rupture teams that make use of both Sinclair's support passive talismans and Hong Lu's support passive ampules.

Ive been enjoying running no outis so that don can get the talismans, she inflicts a lot of count to take advantage of it, especially when given extra slots by being first, its actually really nice inflicting like, 24 by 3 rupture on skill 3 and 10 by 4 on s2 and 8 by 3 on s1, and she heals herself so she's consistently at the max waiting for talismans

I want to give my opinion on the new id: Devyat Rodion IS NOT A BAD ID (probably) There are two problem with rupture teams: Low Rolls and Maintaining a Positive Count Rupture; this new id fix the problem with the low rolls (i hope) but doesn't with the count problem, that because her role is to deal a lot of damage when your rupture potency/count is high.What rupture really need right now is id with good rolls BUT most important at least 2/3 of his skill with positive count that can help maintain rupture on a enemy. i feel like this id came in a bad moment because i saw many people on ds talking how she better in other non-rupture teams, it just that she can show her full potential only when we have a better rupture team.

Rodya's skill 3 will still consume rupture according to the kit teaser, and instead remove the rupture count you would've gained from coin 2 to reuse coin 3.

the swap mechanic is cool and all, but i can see no one going to use it (except the one who want to fuck around with that mechanic) and even you want to use it you still have the same trunk stacks and HP when you go out. The trunk dmg per turn and skill uses can neglect with her shield from passive and only problem you have to deal with is the -sp from it.

As moo said, this is a trailblaze into the chain battle oriented ids, since if he's right, we will be getting more and more ids with "switch" mechanics like the devyat rodion over here. So yes, right now most people won't try to fiddle around with it, but with more ids like this coming out in the future I can see it becoming a viable, if not mandatory, team archetype

Rodion feels like a character for RR4 / chain battles with deployment order buffs - she comes in strong, does a bunch of damage and rupture, dies and gets replaced by the next unit with a better buff. I did the entirety of RR4 with an unleveled ID in the defense+ slot (base ish, base yisang etc) just to have it die and be replaced.

Rapture finally gets a new 000 ID after W-corp Yi Sang back in November 9th, 2023. EDIT: The character is currently not useful outside of Railway. Her numbers need to be HUGE to be useful as a short term burster.

The fact that Rodya doesn't apply rupture at all (neither potency nor count) makes me question how useful she'll be in rupture teams. Then again, i have not fully built a rupture team yet so i could be wrong about it's viability.

skill 1 and 2 may not be able to inflict rupture or count but take into account that its at x+ rupture count. Which means you get the benefits of rupture without eating up count. net neutral is pretty bonkers and she probably has pretty strong count application to reach that point as a baseline

the trick to running a good rupture team is to give the only count positive units in the game (w sang and meatlantern don) 2 skill slots instead of fielding a full team of 6.

People saying Rodya is a bad Rupture unit because she doesn't apply enough count don't seem to realise Rupture's problem was never count management. We've had Lantern Don and 7 Heath for a while, and Talisman Sinclair makes maintaining potency braindead. Rupture's issue was *clashing*. You could never build count against strong bosses because everyone in the team clashed like shit. Once you managed to apply Talisman and get everyone up to 45 SP, maintaining Rupture became braindead easy. Rodya is perfect because she lets you open a stage with a strong clasher, then swap her out once Sinclair gets 5 Talisman and field a count generator like Don to maintain it. It makes complete sense if you use even an inkling of brainpower.

Yeah, cause she's bad unit overall. Relegated to passive bot at best. Rapture needs options to maintain high count, something like rhime shank just to start the combo. There's no justification for rapture to be so bad at maintaining count and potency, while half of the sinking ids are strictly positive at doing so. In ideal world talisman Sinclair should never be taken into account in rapture team. He is too gimmicky, tedious and not fun to play.

To be fair, she's the first of many. She'll become suddenly a LOT better with just another retreating ID, not even necessarily rupture. Rupture overall now is the status that needs help the most along with burn (but burn already is pretty good, just not a lot of variety) - it works well in single target but that's about it. So it's likely we'll see a bunch of rupture IDs next season too
