9:34 The lore explanation essentially is that the Saphirah is faced with their past trauma and they have a 'meltdown' because of it. Your role is to help them get through it. What happens in gameplay is that all employees have to leave the department and one of the game's basic functions is removed or otherwise affected. For example: Malkuth (Control team) shuffles work orders, Yesod (Information) takes away your monitor, Gebura (Disciplinary) beats the shit out of you, Binah (Extraction) beats the shit out of you but is much worse, Hokma (Records) eats your pause button, etc. They are essentially an alternative approach to boss fights that test your expertise in managing the facility.

what i really loveabout the first one is how it starts out creepily and such as if to show how everyone going through this suppresion for the first time will be in a state of confusion of whats happening and then the beat drops as if to signify how you now understand what kind of chaos you have gotten yourself into

Time for the classic Prophet of Poppy analysis of Project Moon stuff! Malkuth's theme! Whispers, a distant delicate tune, chaos and confusion, building slowly up and up, into a cacophony of dissonant noises and chaos. Malkuth's struggle for recognition, and eventual madness and succumbing to an effort to be helpful, those voices are judgment cast her way, but moreso they are the complete lack of acknowledgement she was given, no matter what she did, those she admired simply turned away. She's so frustrated and unsure of herself, the song is just her thrashing wildly for some manner of recognition. Then, all of a sudden, it stops, she achieves clarity. The cacophony slows into a more mellow tune, as she gets a grip, and learns to have the will to stand up straight despite a lack of recognition, because as long as she can believe in herself, she can stand on her own. Yesod's theme! Yesod stayed so true to order and decorum, refusing to give in to emotion for so so long despite the horrors that surrounded him, to the point he drove himself insane, illusions of his own skin rotting away driving him mad. His theme is somber, with single melodies, undercut by an emotional choir peeking through, his emotions cracking through the rigidity, before bursting forth, all of his self hatred and loathing in a cry for help and understanding in a melancholic, triumphant realization of his own pain. As his Suppression continues, the music gets more and more muffled, and in the end, his emotions die back down, and he remembers to accept his emotions and feelings, but maintian discretion, and identify what is real. Hod's theme! This song is fake. Hod is fake. A fake happiness. A fake kindness. Hope and friendliness, all masking a pit of guilt and torment as she remembers that she is the one responsible for the deaths of her friends and colleagues. But... she is in complete denial. She takes a huge dose of Enkephalin, telling herself she's a good, kind person, when in reality, her oppressive 'kindness' is grating others. But she... refuses to see it, until finally, she accepts her reality, peeling away the delusion, to truthfully and honestly hope to be a better person. Netzach's theme! Droning, depressing, loopy, swimming notes that sway over and over. Netzach's suppression is caused by him trying to kill himself by overdosing on Enkephalin, so his theme is a drug trip, representing the hopelessness of the pit he's in. He's seen so much death, despite being such an empathetic person, that he has no hope for the survival of anyone, not even himself. But through the depths of his despair, as the notes drone on and on, he finds a glimmer. A violin speaks to him, the voice of Carmen, the woman he loved, gently encouraging him. Sure, shit sucks, but if he keeps going... if he finds the strength to keep on living, he may just see a world where death no longer haunts him. So for the first time in so long, he feels hopeful again. Tiphereth's theme! At the beginning of her suppression, she exclaims that she will sing a dirge for the loss of her brother. She asks you to put him down for good, to end his suffering of being reborn and rebooted again and again. The song is mellow, low, and droning, a song written to mourn the loss of the dead, and sitting atop a pile of her brother's corpses, sits Tiphereth, crying over his loss, just as she did when she demanded Carmen end her own life, the nail in the coffin that lead to the downfall of the lab. She doesn't cause any real effects, she doesn't change how the facility runs... she just forces you to go through a long, long day, listening to the somber dirge of Enoch. She wants to remember the meaning of his existence, to have some expectation of her own. Chesed's theme! It's hard to pin down through his theme, because he's rather coy, but this electronic beat, and the twinkle of synths undercut by a delicate piano... this is his Boss Fight. He is refusing to comply with this deception anymore. He's fighting back with all his might, and yet... it tries so hard to have impact, but it simply repeats a rather lackluster melody of heroism, because his rebellion is half-baked. He has no will left for it. Because he doesn't really want to bring everything down. He wants you to succeed, he just needs to feel in control of something in his life, and for but a moment, he tries his best. Because in the end, he is one of those who are faithful and trustworthy, loyal to you and you alone. Gebura's theme! This one is long, and changes often. Gebura is a woman who has forgotten who she is. She was once a god amongst Fixers, virtuous and determined, a warrior with a sharpened will to protect those she loves. But now? She doesn't remember who she is, she only remembers the rage she felt when she died. She's lost, and her theme drifts along, lost, confused and punctuated by brief bursts of anger. She fights only on instinct, because nothing else is left but a vague idea that she should be doing something. Eventually, she remembers. She remembers that she failed, that she died to Binah, that the abnormalities killed everyone else. Her rage is for her failure to protect those she loves, and she goes mental over it, you can hear it as her theme gets clearer. But... wait, if that were true, they wouldn't be here. No, she did save someone. She saved you, the Manager, and Benjamin. It wasn't all for nothing. She still has the courage to protect. Binah's theme! Hoo boy. Binah's suppression is her determined not to let you finish. She is the villain. She is the one who destroyed the lab. She is the one who was to be your end, and yet she failed. But here she is, she remembers everything, especially her grudge. She is calm, composed, and aware of her past from the moment you meet. She's the all-seeing eye, and she is the arbiter who will judge you, to judge whether you are ready to finish your journey. She is the climax before the finale. Her theme gets progressively more intrigued and playful as she gauges your worth, before finally, she is defeated, and resolves to simply watch. She is your eye that faces the fear to break the cycle, she represents what you fear and the cycle you want to break, and she sees something in you and your goals, and decides that you're worth her attention. Will you break the cycle? Hokma's theme! Hokma, Benjamin, your truest friend, the one who has been at your side since day one. He's so attached to you, he so wants you to succeed, and he has put *everything* in his life aside to support you and your goals. And in this moment, he decides he doesn't want this journey to end. He doesn't think you're ready to see the truth and overcome the last hurdles of your mental journey. He doesn't want to see you fail, so he stands defiant, out of an act of honest selfishness. His theme is a gentle refusal, an attempt to urge you to reconsider. But you press on... and he panics, the music kicks up, it gets more intense and aggressive. He's a little manic now, and he desperately wants to prevent the loss of his mentor, his one true friend and companion. But in the end, he cannot stand against your newfound resolve, and instead, he shall be your eye embracing the past, so you may build the future. Will you succeed in building the future? Aaaand that's all of them. Sorry, I'm very passionate about the music of these games, so I just wanted to give some vibe-reading about the moods and meanings behind each theme.

I'm here to bring everyone the actual names of the tracks used for the meltdowns.... Malkuth: - Violation of Black Colors - Red Dots Yesod: - untitled9877645623413123325 - Faded Hod: - Retro Time ALT Netzach: - Abandoned - Blue Dots Tiphereth: - Eternal - Dark Fantasy Scene Chesed: - Battle - Urgent Encounter Gebura: - Distorted Night - Insignia Decay Binah: - Jukai - Haunted Streets Hokma: - 090909090 - Circle Rombed Oxygen Some things that may or (more likely) may not interest you: +The themes in the video are actually just the clean versions, that's why Hod's theme sounds so out of place, I already speaked about this in another comment if you're interested +Regarding the previous point, most themes have some kind of added filter or extra effect, and every Meltdown have some visual effect that (sometimes loosely, sometimes directly) reflects that... For example, Chesed's theme has a downpour visual with storm SFX, Haunted Streets have a snowstorm, Hod turns everything into an old cathode ray TV with decoloration added while the theme sounds like an old radio and eventually devolves into a haunted gramophone, etc.... +I don't really know if this is intentional by the composer of the song, but "Jukai" is a word in japanese (obviously romanized) meaning "Tree Ocean/Sea of Trees" and... It is typically used as another name of Aokigahara, also know as the Suicide Forest... And well... Between the violin and the name, it fits Binah like a glove +Speaking of names, I don't frikkin' know why Hokma's second theme was named "Circle Rombed Oxygen"... Like, I know those are royalty free tracks, so no point in looking at the names, just look at "Violation of Black Colors", a name that could fit Yesod very well but it's part of Malkuth's suppression, but still, aside from Untitled[numbers], i think it's the most weird name of the bunch :b +My favorite theme is Chesed's, to the point I sometimes play it on piano

Untitled is VERY fitting actually. When a file is unnamed with lack of information, it becomes Unnamed, sometimes with numbers like the date it was created, time, etc. Yesod's department is technically Information Department. On his suppression, it pixelates the shit out of your screen, removing information technically, And if they didn't pick that name it's a amazing coincidence My favourite is probably all the breakcore ones, Malktuh, Hokma second phase, Gebura.

Each of the Sephirah battles is based around impacting your gameplay experience in some way. To beat the boss, you had to reach a specific energy quota under the given constraints Malkuth would randomize the type of work you assigned your employees to use on abnormalities Yesod would remove your ability to read the abnormality codex requiring you to memorize how to care for each abnormality Hod decreased the skill levels of your employees making them more likely to fail at caring for abnormalities Netzach remove your ability to heal Tiphereth caused many more meltdowns (events where if an abnormality is not cared for quickly it escapes) all over the facility Gebura was a boss battle where you had to defeat her using a variety of dangerous EGO Chesed would make your employees take much more damage from certain elements causing you to have to focus on abnormalities that did not do the affected damage type Binah was another boss where she recreated the events in which she raided Lob Corp HQ. She fights using singularities from different wings and psychic attacks Hokma disabled your ability to pause the game and would gradually speed up time.

Oh Hod... We don't talk about Hod Suppression. (Her Meltdown event weakens your characters as you go on, eventually even turning your highest level employee into a Lv1. This makes it so you can't work on certain abnormalities (there's plethora of abnos that breach if worked with weak employees. And because employees are lower level, they might lose their minds if working with a powerful abno), plus, it makes combat hell because most will get one or two-shotted. Basically, No room for error, or things will go downhill pretty fast (Although, I suppose you can say that about every Sephirah Meltdown, or you can say that about the game in general) Edit: Hokma balls

So basically these play during boss fights with each of them known as 'Suppressions'. As the day progresses and the fight gets to its next phase it changes to a better or worse part. The suppressions themselves have handicaps that you need to finish the day with certain conditions. For Malkuth it shuffles your orders for each agent and it shuffles randomly thought the day so you really need to pay attention. For Yesod he makes your display all messed up and it gets worse and worse. Hod lowers the stats of everyone as the day progresses (Which is REALLY bad if you have Alephs that demand maintanance.) Also it gets distorted during the day- and it is not like in the video 100% Netzach makes it so the regenerator rooms stop working so you have to keep everyone safe (He heals them at certain points but still, paying attention where to send agents and when is key) Tipereth makes it so the abons start to randomly melt down and you have to pay attention where it happens to send them in. Chesed doubles a damage of a certain type you take. Hokma makes it so you cannot pause freely and time speeds up gradually as the day goes on. And Gebura and Binah must be beat up senseless making them true boss fights (and why their tracks are the longest since they have multiple phases). I really like Netzachs, Gebura's and Yesod's ones myself. :) Netz cuz you can feel how he would be in a daze from enkephalin in his system, then changing to more melancholy and sad because he realizes what may be happening around him, feeling no hope for the deaths that have been caused. Yesod's because it sounds technological and distorted like is distorting literally EVERYTHING. And Gebura's since it is so hectic and epic (Also cuz I like her a lot. Not to mention the Rabbits react to her in the fight and I quote the captain of the rabbits as they come in: "Cock up your ears Rabbits that bitch over there is the Red Mist".)

Most of those boss fights themes are actually just like another day but with a lil trick that keeps getting harder and harder the more you progress on this day until you eventually reach winning condition. For example, during Malkuth suppression day all orders you give to your employees are getting messed with each other and you have to figure out what certain order and command does now until you reach certain point of the day where all commands and orders are getting messed up again. And considering what LobCorp game is - it can turn your day into a literal nightmare even with the most easiest abnormalities. But for Binah and Gebura - its actual a boss fight theme since your winning condition is to kill them during their suppressions. Gebura have 4 phases and Binah have 3 but man... The amount of HP, resistances these two and how dangerous they can be is ridiculous if you're giving orders off the timing or/and doing incorrect actions, so each phase have its own theme. Each suppression starts with Second Warning theme (Except of final Daat suppression) and then it switches to themes of each boss.

For me , Hokma was one of the most frightening suppressions out of all of them. He takes away control of the most important element of the game - Time. Controlling flow of time is one of the core aspects of the game since you constantly have to speed the game up or put it on pause to make a decision. Now imagine, you lose control of such ability and you have to comple an entire day with all 4 ordeals. Also, pressing pause will send your worker into panic or outright kill them. The only suppression where i didn't bother retrying after losing 2 employees due to me panicking and pressing pause - takes too much time , cuz first 6 meltdowns are normal speed, which can take roughly 10-15 minutes

The meltdown/suppression themes are all bangers. But they truly shine when in their respective lore/gameplay context. Eg. Yesod with the corruption of the visuals. Chesed with the rain. Gebura with all the abnormalities running rampage.

all the sephirah challenge your skill in different ways Malkuth: challenges your memory, as she scrambles your work order (for example, if you do attachment it becomes repression instead) Yesod: yesod challenges your vision and also memory, as it fries your screen, turning it into mere pixels, and you'll have to remember the abno info due to the fact it gets unreadable in higher levels. Hod: she basically cripples your employees, making them alot weaker, thus making the abno's jobs easier. Netzach: if you were relying on the healing rooms throughout the game, tough luck as he slows down the healing, exposing your employees into dying easier. Tiphereth: removes your Meltdown Immunity, making meltdowns more frequent, get ready for alot of suppresions bud. Chesed: chesed has a wheel of death, with the 4 damage types (Red, White, Pale, and Black) if you didn't care about the weaknesses in your agent's egos, he'll make you care alot more by multiplying the damage taken based on the wheel (for example, if it is pale, your agents will take more pale damage.) Gebura: She transforms into The Red Mist, she harms your agents with plenty of attacks, sometimes you'll have to utilize the abnos themselves to take care of her. Binah: transforms into An Arbiter (that is the name), she utilizes singularities from different corporations to game end your employees, the abnos aren't gonna be much help now, you need to face her head on. Hokma: hokma meltdown forces you to have quick thinking, as when you stop time to gather your thoughts, a random employee dies or panics. if you've been relying on timestop for a while, tough luck.

Each boss has 3 music(or just 1), warning 2 play the moment the meltdown start when reach the 1/3 of the fight the music change to what you are earing. Thing I like about their music: - Tiphereth organ is to put to rest the male version -Gebura phase 2 music where the siren go out becaused she going berserk -Binah music make me thing of Harry potter for some reason -Hockma 2nd phase music going crazy becaused the game is now in the X2 speed (no joking) whit no pause button

With Chesed it's pronounced more like He-sed, and with Netzach he is more of a Net-zah

Theyre definitely not pronounced how they're written. They're Hebrew, and so use a different pronunciation for the letters than in English. Chesed is more 'hesed', with a gutteral 'H'. Malkuth is 'mal-koot', Tiphereth is 'tiferet', etc.

Fun fact, most tracks used in lob corp aren't made by anyone affiliated with PM. Most of the meltdown tracks are made by Tilarids. I genuinely wish they'd hire him to make music for limbus because I do genuinely think he does a better job than even Studio EIM or (I'm gonna get hate for this but it's true) Mili. None of these tracks were made for lob corp btw. All of them are just general industrial music pieces made by this dude a couple of years before lob corp even came out or started development.

Everyone hates Hod’s Supression even though she also can be easily countered by a few item abnormalities in the game, especially You Must Be Happy… which is what Do You Love Your City from Limbus Company Canto II is an aberration of

Not sure how you gonna react to lobcorp cutscenes. There's a video that's like 5 hours long that put it in types of cutscenes then there a playlist that put them in order they appear.

Aw shucks you totally missed the "meltdown" Version of God's suppression theme. It's also unfortunate that most lob corp music doesn't hit hard enough unless you're experiencing the game itself.(I'd go as far as claiming the pain of game difficulty is an important element)

Tiphereth's theme hits different especially because at that moment you'll likely have your first encounter with a so-called "Midnight" Ordeal. Although i am a bit saddened that your playlist did not contain some phases, i doubt they require a new vid as idk how would you even record the reactions to them; and there are just too few missed phases for that. For example Tiph has a second phase where a forboding low brass begins to play, perfect for the despair that is about to come onto the player. Even the names of those Ordeals are menacing. "Eternal Meal", "Helix of the End", "The God Delusion"... Another good one is Hod's corruption of that jazz. A filter is applied on further phases of Hod's suppresion, distorting, slowing down, shifting the volume in certain parts of her theme as if to remind us of the state of things... And a creepy drone begins to play above the sunken theme, further drowning it. Even Hod's suppression effect is fitting. Your employees are getting weaker and weaker throughout the day. As if they are being poisoned and do not even notice their bodies and minds weakening over the calming, ever-distorting jazz...

Its not really poisoning. Hod is the head of the training team after all, so its as if all your employees didnt train at all and thats why theyre weaklings

Hod's theme is explained by one of the lines that flashes on the screen while you do the supression, it says that the recording of the day will be used as a training montage for the employees.
