Unlike 99% of gacha games, in Limbus, you DON'T pull for new characters, instead you pull for their alternate world versions (IDs). It allows them to give these 12 sinners all the screentime always instead of focusing on 1 or 2 new characters in an event and forgetting the other 50+ characters forever like in a normal gacha.

@@Trailblazer_Ririna yes, the main cast is composed of 15 characters: the 12 Sinners (our playable characters), Dante (the manager and our POV character), Verguillius (our guide, giving us an overview of our mission and location every chapter) and Charon (the bus driver, driving our main base/transport around the City). As it was mentioned above, the gatcha "characters" we pull for are versions of our 12 Sinners from mirror worlds (called Identities) and range from simply being "this sinner if they were part of this faction" to a sinner essentially being a mirror counterpart of a character met during the story, be they supporting characters, minor antagonists or sometimes even a chapter's main antagonist.

How F2P friendly is this game? Well, you get the premium currency for free every week as an apology for having to update the game. The rarest items (EGO) have a no duplicate rule, so as soon as you roll one, it's gone from the rotation. Which means that every jackpot is something new. You can also bypass the whole gacha system and just grind for the units you want. Also if you add people to your friendlist, you can borrow their units if you want to try them out or have trouble with a part of the game. Lobotomy Corporation and Library of Ruina are not Gacha. One is a management sim and the other is a card game.

The only thing behind paywalls is the season pass (which is way better than the monthly pass), and some in-battle announcers.

The E.G.O. that have the no duplication rule are essentially ultimate attacks, the actual characters you roll for you *can* get duplicates of- but there's no mechanic that makes you need to get multiple copies. Any dupes you get will be converted to the currency used for buying new characters without needing to gacha. That currency can also be converted into the currency for upgrading the characters and E.G.O. you already have, so it's still very useful.

Limbus and the other project moon games are not horror games but they deal with very dark and harsh topics, discrimination, cannibalism, some body horror, clowns and many others. Overall a very interesting and deep world to get in to. I hope you have lots of fun playing their games.

It's one of the most f2p-friendly gacha games on the market, to the point where I sometimes feel bad that I don't have more ways to give ProjectMoon money. The characters and the setting are fantastic, and the game shares a world with 2 other non-gacha games, Library of Ruina and Lobotomy Corporation. The gameplay can be a bit challenging to figure out, but it is well worth it.

Project Moon's games are an interesting series to get into, south korean indie with 3 games in the same series. A crazy SCP inspired rough manager, a complex deck builder and Limbus company being a good game-first Gacha. All taking place in a corrupt city with many literary and myth references for characters.

I did read a lot of literature and know a good amount of mythology in the past, but I tend to have a hard time connecting who is referencing what in a lot of things until way later. T^T Might need to just look up what literature and myths before the first-time gameplay stream instead.

The pity system is rather lackluster, but the other ways that it's f2p friendly make up for that: By spending things called shards that you get from pulling duplicates and from grinding levels in the battlepass, you can just buy out the entire roster of IDs and E.G.O (with five notable exceptions that are basically limited IDs that you can grab whenever those Walpurgis Nights come around). The chances of getting 000 and E.G.O isn't even all that low comparatively, and they're constantly adding IDs to the standard pool as well.

17:52 you get a free 000 for 200 rolls… Or you use shards from duplicates and reward crates to just outright buy them. Oh and each super move, or E.G.O aside from the base one has an effed up, powered up version called Corrosion. Unless you Overclock into it, the Sinner loses their marbles and attacks anyone, friends included.

Just as a note: yes you can basically get every ID and EGO for free through using resources you can get for free to buy them or by pulling them from the gacha. except walpurgis ids and ego, those can only be "crafted" or pulled during a walpurgis event. but you can only craft walpurgis ids from the previous walpurgis. can't wait to see the character pv reaction.

For reference, the game is a turn-based RPG. It pulls a lot of elements from the previous game in the series, Library of Ruina, which was a deck builder only in this case each character uses a pre-built deck of skills. You roll for 2 things in this game, IDs and EGOs. IDs are your characters and determine your attacks, passive abilities, and physical + sin (basically magic) damage types. EGOs are super attacks you can give to any ID, they are generally very powerful, but cost resources gained from attacking enemies. All Project Moon games take place in the same universe, Limbus exists to give basic structure to the world building for future games to expand on. The setting is basically cyberpunk dystopia meets ultra Sci-Fi with a good sprinkling of horror.

Get ready. From now on, you'll suffer aplenty. PS: Read. Not only are character stories based on literary classics, but the game mechanics will punish any illiteracy. I'd recommend starting with reading a summary of each literary classic (wuthering waves in particular as it is Heathcliff's inspiration), and quotes if you can, it'll really deepen your understanding of each sinner. Oh, and before I forget: The difficulty curve is *vertical.* (You'll see in chapter 4, maybe 3 as well.)

@@Trailblazer_Ririna it is not necessary at all, but it certainly will make you understand the story much more. My best example is Mobidick, as it is Chapter 5 (Ishmael's chapter). As for ingame info (lore), it is also not necessary, but it is enjoyable. You cannot, however, not read attack/passive descriptions and expect to have a good time.

@@Trailblazer_Ririna I wouldn't say an actual "comic" or in this case manhwa, theres one called Wonderlab which is related to Lobotomy Corporation, it's not canon anymore, and due to recent stuff isn't even apart of Project Moons ip, but it's still really nice. And then theres Distortion Detective, which is a web novel, which goes along with Library of Ruina. And the comic / web novel for limbus is Leviathan, it has spoilers to the previous games so I wouldn't recommend reading it to catch up to Limbus. Going from Limbus to the other games is honestly not that bad, since Limbus is pretty well disconnected from the other games (still in the same universe though along with the novel's n stuff). Lobotomy is most often skipped, it's my personal favorite of the 3 but I can imagine why people would skip it. Library of Ruina is the most like Limbus in gameplay, and style. So if you're thinking of getting into more Project Moon games I'd recommend library over L corp. tldr no isn't bad to start with Limbus BUT Library is really good, so if you want you should check it out.

@@Trailblazer_Ririna I'd say so, the only games that get in the way of another is library and lobotomy, because library will say some lore stuff that happened in lobotomy and if you don't know what happened in the first game you might be a little confused (nothing's stopping you from watching a lore video tho.) But limbus and library can go really hand and hand with each other. (the only time they cross over is during walpurgisnaught which is just limbus's crossover event for the previous games ((fan service)) tldr yes that's perfect but you can play library and limbus simultaneously if you wanted

I love all project moon games but lobotomy corporation is a game for freaks its very fun and cool but wow is it not for everyone but library of ruina has a main character who wasn't in lob corp so it actually explains most of the important lore from lob corp and also it is the same genre of gameplay as limbus so there is that.

Oh, and to answer a few things; How I would describe the game: 12 psychopaths and a clock share a collective brain cell as they travel the City in a bus in search of shiny sticks and work out their problems. Of course there's more to that, and anyone who enjoys Project Moon games will say that the writing is phenomenal. I never thought a f2p gacha would make me sob like a baby and proceed to tear up for weeks at the sound of breaking glass and the mention of broken wings. IDs- think of these like skins with skills. IDs are alternate versions of your cast of 12 sinners. EGOs- describing these as ultimates is pretty accurate. Think of them as beating people up with your mental illness lol The gacha- super generous and very f2p, I don't even really need to use the pity and you can literally just spark every ID and EGO with shards you can get from farming. The devs also give out a lot of gacha currency all the time. Gameplay- it is almost like a hybrid of turn based. Though, I will say, the tutorial is awful. I recommend either looking up a tutorial on KZbin (ESGO has a good one, I think that's the channel's name) or just the good old trial and error. While the first 2 chapters are easy enough to just auto battle, I do recommend taking time to properly experiment and learn the mechanics as chapter 3 onwards will get harder and auto battle will throw you under the bus. While Limbus is pretty new, only a year or 2 old, it is the 3rd of the series. Lobotomy Cooperation, then Library of Ruina are its predecessors but you don't need to play them first to start Limbus. If you want that sweet sweet lore ti this world Project Moon has made, then I would, and honestly, it's such a great world and story. The music is always fantastic too, same with the VA work.

Might be a bit late to the video, but as others have said, this game is very f2p friendly. Heres a breakdown: On average 10 pull per week (weeklies and maintaince reward) Gacha rates: Ego 1.3% (cannot pull dupes) 3 star id 3% (50 shards per dupe) Pity is 200 63 shards per week (need 400 for any rare character of your choice) Multiple 10 pull tickets or guranteed tickets every event. This is not including the season pass rewards as well. If you do spend money, just get the season pass every 3 months which cost around $18 and more or less allows you to get everything in the game. Have fun!

So I feel like everyone in the comments is hyping up Limbus a lot. Looking at your other Reaction videos, this seems be an expected occurrence as the community gets extremely excited for a possible new Let’s Player. Still, I want to add a more neutral PM fan’s perspective to this. 1) Gameplay loop-wise, Limbus is a typical Gacha game. It has the grinding, waiting, season pass, energy system, etc, etc. The rates are slightly better than standard Gachas, but that doesn’t say much. The season pass though seems to be quite generous, allowing Limbus to edge more to a subscription game. Also you can infinitely stockpile energy. 2) Story-wise, Limbus is an atypical Gacha game. There’s little to no fan service, an equal gender cast, with a more dark and grounded atmosphere and dialogue. Its first chapters don’t drag on with a ton of exposition, and its has a limited cast, thanks to it’s ID system. Its main character, Dante, is also not a self-insert. Story is not perfect, but it is unique, so make with that what you will. Can’t comment on gameplay because i don’t play a lot of games. From what I’ve seen, the gameplay is good, but worse than PM’s other game Library of Ruina. It is turn based, using a coin drawing and flipping mechanic, plus several other systems. The beginner’s learning curve is basically vertical.

Seeing a bunch of people saying it’s not "like other gacha games" so I’m just gonna use this copy and paste I made I find people to genuinely be funny when they describe this game. They bring up points about how it’s "not like other gacha games" when really, gacha games aren’t what the story is or the tropes used, it’s the monetary side of it. Limbus is an absolute cashgrab and will always be especially since they made the gaining of egocrates only being in the limbus pass. Want a really good identity? Better start grinding the shit out of mirror dungeons for the limbus battle pass and for that 200 lunacy for each mirror dungeon! Which equals up to around 3 hours (and more) of your time to get the weekend benefits (which drain away quickly). And even then, you don’t have the chance for 10 pulls unless you had the proper amount of lunacy prior to the mirror dungeon. And by God, don’t get me started on the energy system. Fucking hell, any game that implements an energy system should rot. It’s the worst thing to exist and it just limits the fun of Limbus and the ability to actually even grind shit to progress. The uptie system is also innately a flawed one as well. While yes, there should be progression with a character in order to unlock better potential, I think that should’ve just been leveling up. The only way to gain threads is doing the thread lux or gaining an egoshard and converting it. I highly doubt anyone’s grinding away for 6 thread per lux and it also just ruins the progress of egoshard collecting. Uptie 4 is also just another shitty element ripped off from other gacha games, it’s just something there to grind away for and waste time on it to make your sinners just a little bit better, having a bullshit requirements of egoshard and thread. And how could I forget? The most important, cash graby, greedy, money eating part! The extraction system. Want that real good identity, throw your hard earned 1300 lunacy for 9 0’s and that one 00 you already have! Go through the process of grinding all over again to experience this constantly till you finally get a 000 you don’t even give a shit about. I suggest just playing Libray of Ruina or Lobotomy Corporation, as they’re full effort Project Moon games

Its ansolutely story first and your desperate attempt to be "special" is just struggling against people who drove into it thanks to trust PM gained by listening to players. Limbus is not grindy because its gacha, but because its pm game. We are used to it. And early pulls are good, tho later we all just farm for ids we want. I dont need all of them, nor is it "impossible" to play game without set meta units... unless you're just not using potential of those you have.

The game is sort of turnbased-ish. You see the opponent's moves, you choose your moves in response, and both sides execute their attacks at the same time. Two characters attacking each other will "clash" and the loser doesn't attack.
