You’re so cute! I’m gonna go put myself up against the window...lol You’re the best. It’s like you were speaking to me. I’ve been so down with life. Oh, I’m thankful and all that normal good stuff! Don’t get me wrong... But, just the state of the world right now and my son got sent to Afghanistan for a year about two months before Biden decided to have a play date with Afghanistan....now, who knows if the one year thing will mean anything.he might have to stay, it looks like it. He’s got small children at home and wife.so sad for all the men. We’ve all been through a down time with covid...I mean, life is just so NOT normal anymore. I don’t even want to sew or do allllthe crafts n things anymore.i don’t even have desire to cook. I’m just not me! So! I got my talk today and I’m gonna put my big girl panties on and try to make myself trudge through this dark time. Right after I get me some sunshine. Love ya girl!

I found you on YT this morning. I love to watch people cook and I love to cook, especially cakes and pies. I learned to cook from helping my mother. I do not know where kids will be in the future if they do not learn to cook. I try to cook for one and it is not easy. I really do not like leftovers, but sometimes you have to eat them. Sunday a week ago, I broke down and bought a chuck roast, and ate it for 3 days. The 3rd day I added potatoes and carrots for a change. This cake sounds so good and different from the usual cakes. I am going to have to try this. Sometimes I'd rather have a piece of cake or pie than regular meal. I am a diabetic and I am addicted to sugar. It is the hardest thing I have ever been through. When I make a cake or pie, I eat a bite just to get through my sugar cravings. It is really bad to read labels and find out just how much sugar is added to our foods. Thank you for sharing this amazing recipe. I love to made desserts, and yes, it is therapy for me. I am retired so it gives me something to do. I do not use cake mixes, I make scratch cakes. I never ate cake mix cakes growing up. I use good ingredients, I feel if you are going to make a cake use the best. I have tried the sugar subsitutes. They are awful. So I eat just a little sugar in moderation.

Yay! Coffee with Ms Amy! Oh that looks delicious! Could you zest the limes and put it directly in the cake mix and the icing? Or would that be to much? I've been cooking and baking many years now, but watching my cooking shows give me new tips and different spins on the same old same old! Thank you! I tried the sausage and black eyed peas recipe, I put in a little cabbage, hubby loved it! All the recipes I make from watching you are always a big hit! Oh I had asked you awhile back about skipping the commercials, well I googled, and you don't get "credit" for skipped commercials, so I now watch them lol Prayers for you and your family, I know this walk you're going through with the Alzheimer's and your sweet Momma. Can’t wait to try this cake. My father died 20 years ago with Alzheimer’s. He was diagnosed at 57 years old and lived 12 years after that. We had to learn to laugh through our tears. I remember when Dad called me long distance to tell me he was marrying our mother. He made my mother drive him to my brother’s house to tell him the same thing. My brother jokingly said well Dad’s it about time since she gave you 3 kids. I remember when he forgot who we were. Then he forgot how to walk, then talk and finally how to eat. This a terrible illness. Prayers to you and your mother.

Beautiful cake Amy, I don’t eat sugar, but I know this is really good. Sorry to hear about your Mom. The last 2 or 3 years of my Mama’s life she didn’t know me . And she felt bad about it. I told her ,it’s all right. God bless your Mama.

I am so sorry for your mother and your family. I have lost my mother and mother in law to this horrible disease. I was blessed to care for both of them until their death. All together I have lost 7 family members to Alzheimer's. After being married for 40 years I lost my husband to a blood infection. I was so thankful God spared him Alzheimer's. I now have lost a cousin to early on set Alzheimer's and have one cousin fighting it. We lost all of my mother's sisters, and my husband's grandmother and my grandmother to it. If I never see this nightmare again, I will be blessed. My sister's memory is going but doctor's are saying it's from smoking. Blessing to you. Thank you for all your recipes. I'm very lonely at night, so I watch your videos until fall asleep. Now you have given me the heart to cook for my family again. I also have three sons and five grandbabies. Last week I moved across the street from the two youngest babies. I'm so ready to live again thanks mostly to these videos! I truly love you!

Amy, have you ever made a checkerboard cake? They are so pretty! I was thinking that your lime cake would be great with a lemon cake. Yum!!! For Valentine's Day chocolate and raspberry are good! Have you tried chocolate mayonnaise cake? It's my favorite chocolate cake!

The story of the apron & napkins really resonates with me. My darling mother, God rest her soul, made all of our clothes, and knit up a storm. She knit a ballgown for my Barbie doll, and a sweater for Ken. There are 8 girls & 1 boy in our family; he's the only one who got "store bought" clothes. I didn't pick up the skills but several of my sisters did. xo

Oh Wendy. The ball gown for Barbie sounds wonderful and then I read she knitted a sweater for Ken!!! Girl that is awesome. My grandmother sewed bell bottom knit pants my my Barbie 😄I loved them. They were pink and white checked. Sorry about your Mom girl. God rest her soul yes. She sounds like a wonderful woman.
@wenbren2 жыл бұрын
@@amyslouisianakitchen Barbie was styling! I bet the bell Bottoms were adorable. The ballgown was light blue with teeny tiny pearl accents. Just so you know, I pray for you and your family on my daily walk. I would give all I have to sit with my mother again even if she didn't know me. I know HER. God is good. Your mother will know you again. xo

Sure do miss him.. The cake looks so good I hope you got your gifts I sent you..

Goodness gracious Tammy. 13 years is a long time. Bless your Mom's heart. My Daddy kept my mom until about 6 months ago. She cannot walk at all anymore and he is old and cannot wag her around. So we finally put her in a skilled nursing home. It has totally depressed him. Life is always fun isn't it girl. Thank you for sharing your story with me girl.
