Clare, get a goalie and a free taker please for the next match. Move Mcinerney into centre half back and remove Diarmuid Ryan out of wingback. Move Duggan to midfield where he will get more freedom of movement. Move Tony Kelly to wingback. Bring back Ryan Taylor to corner forward ASAP or move Conlon back into corner forward if he is struggling at wing back. There is no way any backline should give the freedom of movement that Hegarty enjoyed and there is no way Hannon should be allowed to strole up the field unimpeded. Can Clare bounce back? Yes but not without changes on the field.

@@12345Yeah Mcinerney is the only player outside of young Hegarty comming up that is capable of filling the centre half back role. No offence to Conlon, he is a skilled player but not a centre half back. Tony Kelly and Conlon should be at wing back positions and Mcinerney in the centre half back role. Why Mcinerney? Because he can break the tackle, something Conlon is finding difficult to do. Kelly and Conlon on the wings flanking Mcinerney would make a more solid halfback line. Kelly is well capable of scoring from wing back but more important has the speed to get back down the field, something that Diarmuid Ryan doesn't. Duggan struggles in the tight and would be more suited to a midfield role. If Clare don't resolve these issues they won't make the final this year.

No matter who played full back, or in goals for Clare ,they were no way half as good as Limerick, but second best in Munster.

The game was over after 25 minutes to be honest. The problem is with Clare not anywhere else regardless of the stunts played by John Paul cutting the power or the referee being influenced to making the decision to stop Clare pucking the ball out quickly.

Lot of rugby tactics being used by Limerick past few years in the tackle, needs to be scrutinized by refereeing governing body.hurling skills being diminished by over use of physical strength in preventing opponents from playing the ball with the hurley.Not a Clare supporter.

It's an issue that runs deep. If someone with the ball runs at you, how do you stop them, and how do you safely stand your ground without fouling? Is a player, with ball in hand, allowed run at an opponent or does he have to avoid the contact? The rulebook we have in hurling today is completely useless (e.g. the hook is a foul!) so we can't go there for answers. Gaa need to properly, and for the first time, conceive of the sport of hurling, to actually design it in a way that it can be played in line with its own rules. The sport needs to be built from the ground up, for the first time, because what's happening at the moment is rugby tackles are thriving in the absence of real rules. Consistency in refereeing is impossible without usable rules. Rugby tackles will thrive until the rules are fixed.
