It was a truly epic final and I watched it in a pub in London - The 12 Pins in Finsbury Park and we were absolutely enthralled by all the drama - The only thing I could be critical of was the Limerick ref was slightly biased towards to Clare - Towards the end of extra time Cork had a couple of free chances denied which proved critical to the end result - Small margins

Okay, here's a potentially stupid question - why are there so many different colored helmets? I'd think that they'd all be wearing helmets that matched the uniform colors. I know that GAA is still amateur, but are the players having to buy their own helmets?
@conorkavanagh460812 күн бұрын
They buy their own I think, but ultimately what does it matter you can see from their jerseys who they play for
@BroadwayJoe9912 күн бұрын
@conorkavanagh4608 I figured as much. I know that GAA is amateur, and based largely on volunteers running things, but still. My only other guess was that with the clubs being County-based (right?), maybe the different-colored lids were from local clubs within each county.

I have no idea what I am looking at, let alone figure out the rules. Off to google to check out the possession rules, which to me are impenetrable. Hands, racket, bouncing while running, holding the ball while running or passing… I am so confused. But the spectators look like they are having a lot of fun and playing it looks even more fun. Looks like a bunch of Squash players were fooling around a rugby field before they took off the football goals and came up with a game they could play. The helmet and face guard likely came later, after a few concussions. I’d hate to see a bench clearing brawl in this sport. Good thing handguns and hand grenades are not part of the standard equipment.
