Swami Sarvapriyananda gives an introduction to the Yoga Vasistha Sarah, translated as Nectar of Supreme Knowledge, an Advaitic text consisting of 223 verses. He explains how Brahman is the limitless serene radiance, as mentioned in the first verse of the text. This talk was given at a retreat organized by the Ramakrishna Vedanta Ashrama Pittsburgh.

ABOUT VEDANTA
Vedanta is one of the world’s most ancient religious philosophies and one of its broadest. Based on the Vedas, the sacred scriptures of India, Vedanta affirms the oneness of existence, the divinity of the soul, and the harmony of religions.
ABOUT US
Vedanta Society of New York is affiliated with the Ramakrishna Order of India. In fact, this is the Order's first Center started by Swami Vivekananda, in 1894. It was a historic event, for the seed of the world-wide Ramakrishna Movement was sown here in New York over a century ago. Swami Sarvapriyananda is the present Resident Minister and Spiritual Leader of the Vedanta Society of New York.

Mr. Vishvarupa (AKA Swami Sarvapriyānanda) is undoubtedly a VERY intelligent man, but the fact that he supports the two most pernicious institutions in the history of the earth, as well as him being an animal-abuser, says much about his true moral character: F.I.S.H. Paragraph 28. Feminism is the penultimate evil at present because feminism is based on the misguided assumption that women are equal to or even superior to men. Although a female can exhibit superior traits, skills, etcetera, to some men, a woman can never have AUTHORITY over a man. Truth be told, no true man would ever descend to the level of accepting counsel from any of his subordinates. A man should fully obey his appointed masters and never emasculate himself by submitting to the dictates of a female. Feminism and democracy are guaranteed to destroy society, as can be clearly seen at present. However, feminism will NEVER EVER be destroyed until the most pernicious institution is first destroyed: F.I.S.H Paragraph 26. Democracy is evil because the masses will invariably choose the murderous Barabbas over the good King Jesus. This planet is surely doomed unless the most pernicious institution ever known to man (democracy) is replaced by the only legitimate form of government (monarchy - preferably a good monarch, though even a bad king is preferable to being ruled by an elected official who can never be good). Most of the problems in human society are directly or indirectly attributable to this relatively modern phenomenon, since it is the government’s role and sacred duty to enforce the law. Just because good and bad are relative, does not imply that they do not exist. They do exist but are relative. A democrat can never be good, despite appearing so. One of the many sinister characteristics of democracy, communism and other evil forms of governance, is the desire for their so-called “leaders” to attempt to control or at least influence the personal lives of every single citizen. For example, in the wicked, decadent nation where this holy scripture was composed, The Southland (or Australia as it is known in the Latin tongue), the demonic government tries and largely succeeds in controlling the rights of parents to properly raise, discipline and punish their children according to their own morals, limiting legitimate powers an employer has over his servants, persecuting religious leaders (even to imprisonment and death, believe it or not) and even trying to influence what people eat and wear. Not that a government shouldn’t control what its citizens wear in public, but it should ensure that they are modestly dressed, which is hardly the case in Australia and similar nations. Basically, the worst of the democratic governments promote or at least permit all things contrary to God’s perfect and pure will such as adultery, fornication, prostitution, pornography, homosexuality, gambling (even running lotteries themselves), illegitimate abortion of poor innocent unborn children, irreligion, drug addiction, disrespect for authority and promoting materialism and ignorance via a powerful network of institutions of miseducation (so-called “schools, colleges and universities”). Let it be known however - democracy can not and will not endure. The truth shall triumph! Democracy is only acceptable within large business corporations, where the shareholders must vote on who will be the company bosses and other matters. To read the remaining chapters of “A Final Instruction Sheet for Humanity”, which are the most accurate spiritual precepts so far in human history, Email the address on my KZbin homepage, with the acronym “FISH” in the subject field. 🐟 “The cure for nescience is unerring knowledge”.

THE TRUTH ABOUT "SWAMI" VIVEKANANDA & THE RAMAKRISHNA MISSION: Some of the following three points apply to practically any "religious" organization, not only to the Ramakrishna Mission/Vedanta Society. Nota bene: I refer to the founder of that pseudo-religious organization by his proper name, Mr. Narendranath Datta, and NOT the name by which he is addressed by the deluded fanatics who follow him, "Swami Vivekananda", for reasons that should become obvious when reading the following. 1. A spiritual master ought to be a member of the Holy Priesthood (that is, the "brāhmaṇa" class of society, usually wrongly transliterated as "Brahmin"). Mr. Datta was a member of the working-class ("śūdra", in Sanskrit), since he failed to exhibit key characteristics of a genuine brāhmaṇa. Firstly, he was a drug addict (he died at a young age, due to lung cancer caused by chain smoking tobacco). 🚬 Secondly, he was a carnist. A carnist is a person who considers animals unworthy of moral protection (he virtually suckled on the teats of cows, thus causing undue harm to both himself, to the cows from whom he stole their milk, and of course the poor, innocent calves, who were robbed of their food). 🍼 🐄 🥛 In order to learn of the prerequisites for being a TRUE BRĀHMAṆA, email me for a copy of the Holiest of All Holy Scriptures, "A Final Instruction Sheet for Humanity" ("FISH"). 2. The Ramakrishna Mission/Vedanta Society condones the two MOST PERNICIOUS institutions in the history of the planet - democracy and feminism. There is insufficient space in this comment section to properly explicate the reasons why democracy (or, for that matter, any system of non-monarchical governance) and feminism are so adharmic and evil, so, if you are one of the very few souls who is desirous of understanding my reason for stating the above, you should find my Email address in the "About" page of my KZbin channel. 3. Because, as mentioned previously, Mr. Datta was an ultra-fundamentalist pseudo-religious fanatic, and an ignorant "śūdra", none of his disciples and grand-disciples, et cetera, can ever attain to self-realization, for as Lord Jesus Christ rightly stated two millennia ago, "A student can never be greater than his teacher". Therefore, if one has ambition to become even more "realized" than Mr. Datta, it is ABSOLUTELY IMPERATIVE that he seek training from a guru who is on a higher state of spiritual understanding and realization than Mr. Datta, or any of the current Ramakrishna Mission "sannyasins". Just to provide a couple of examples for the above accusation, the current head of the Advaita Society of New York, Mr. Vishvarupa (so-called "Swami" Sarvapriyānanda) is a self-confessed candāla (dog-eater), since he consumes the bloody carcasses of poor, innocent animals, and of course, as a member of that demonic organization, he promulgates the second-most pernicious institution in history (feminism). Furthermore, the British woman who hosts his KZbin channel, Diane Crafford, according to her Facebook profile picture, condones not only unjustified animal slaughter, but she supports the murder of even poor, innocent, defenseless, unborn humans. 👿 In order to study dharma and yoga with the current World Teacher Himself, search for "Jagadguru Svami Vegananda" in Facebook. 😇 सत्यमेव जयते! 😇

So if f enough people do yoga eventually it causes a change in their lives. Om Aum Shakti Shanti Shanti Shakti Some practicioners seem to fall short of handling their responsibilities properly. I don't find much peace in that. But I suppose I shouldn't look for it in others. Supposedly to be aware of violence is the opposite of being aware of peacefulness. Namaste Chakra

This is not a critique of Swami, I love his lectures and he is the very reason I have even come to the level of maturity and understanding to even make a suggestion. But I would love it if Swami would focus more on the relationship philosophy shares with psychology rather than philosophy as a standalone description of our own imagination of what the 'truth' is supposed to be. For example, Swamiji makes excellent videos on Advaita and discusses very deep topics, but each audience will take a different thing away from his talks, that is inevitable. But the level of disparity in interpretation can be reduced if the abstract philosophy is explained with the help of daily examples of what people go through in different situations and ages. Physical sciences are completely objective and serve the purpose of understanding the relationship between physical entities, and an investigation into what these entities are. Similarly, psychological sciences are completely subjective and serve the purpose of understanding the relationship between subtle entities, and an investigation into what these subtle entities are. Now for the purpose of the human predicament, physical sciences does an adequate job of alleviating human pain. But the existential suffering remains. Psychology has attempted to solve it over the last couple of centuries, but it mostly has studied behaviour, the relationship between subjective entities. Investigation into these entities is very difficult because it is the mind itself which investigates and the mind cannot see itself. But attempts have been made via intuition. Similar attempts have been made to investigate the nature of physical reality, and while we have been relatively more successful because the mind can observe the physical, but even here nobody really knows the fundamental particles or energies, only the relationships they share in the form of laws of physics and chemistry. Based on these relations, entities are postulated like atoms, then e-, p+ and n, and then quarks, and the investigation continues into the studies of quantum mechanics and consciousness studies. As these investigations into the physical and psychological entities deepens, the boundaries seem to fade away, but never completely. This infinite stretch of an ever decreasing but never ceasing separation of a unified understanding of what even is any entity is what advaita calls avidya, and this results in the raga-dvesha of the mind as maya. This is where advaita comes into the picture. As we see that the attempt to reach infinity linearly doesn't work, we need to assume infinity and then prove it by trying to disprove it. This process is called neti neti. Swamiji will be able to explain all this much better, but the entire point of me blabbering all this is to show that there is a LOT of potential in advaita talks and a lot of unexplored territory, and I know that the status quo of youtube won't understand or care for half of it but it is just a suggestion. Advaita is mostly only talked about from the pov of advaita vedanta and upanishads as a sprirtual pursuit and the deluded mind tends to disconnect it away from reality, leading to spiritual bypassing., Advaita is hardly ever approached from a psychological standpoint which in turn observes the physical reality, and without understanding the psychological we can never reconcile the physical paradoxes of relativity, uncertainty and incompleteness. Even if it is mentioned, it is only one or two sentences, whereas whole talks need to be addressed to each of them to practically help the audience develop insight. Rest will obviously happen upon initiation, which I strongly recommend everyone to request for. And of course, it is not the duty of swamiji to spoonfeed us everything, we need to use our own brains and take interest in this pusuit independently, that is, mumukshatva.

This ain't a daily vlog channel, videos take time, and you gotta remember that swamiji is a sadhaka first, guru next, speaker third and youtuber last. KZbin is not his main focus, so of course he won't upload that frequently. In fact he is not the one even operating this channel, it is a team which selects parts which are new and will help develop new insight. There are already hundreds of goldmines of insight in old videos, new information is not needed. I think many of us make the mistake of using these videos lightly as a form of spiritual entertainment to feel good about ourselves and life rather than realize the depth of our suffering and applying it in our real life. We should stop this spiritual bypassing and be grateful for these few uploads. Do visit the ramakrishna math near you.

@@ArkaSarkar-y4r I do not think video content is helpful in the long run. It is directly linked with short attention span and is a last resort for spiritual information and practice and at best a starter. Swamiji is fully aware of the social media boom, but he is not operating a business and so is not willing to pull down the sadhana chatushthaya and the spiritual ideals just to mass feed videos. That was my point, spirituality is not about good content, spiritual content at best is to give you direction. Sadhana is upto you, finding a guru is upto you. That is if you serious about jivanmukti.

Nirguna is the foundation of all the Saguna. Even when it manifests as Saguna ; the essential and absolute nature as Nirguna remain always intact. So, the equation goes as : Nirguna Brahman + Maya (Prakriti when pure sattva predominates) = Ishwara Nirguna Brahman + Avidya (Prakriti when sattva is tainted by rajas and tamas) = Jivas Nirguna Brahman + Prakriti in which Tamas predominate = Jagat. So, Ishwara, Jiva and Jagat are the manifestations of Supreme Purusha (Brahman) and It's inexplicable power Prakriti. Brahma, Vishnu and Rudra are the three aspects of the same Ishwara.

The biggest problem of advaita vedanta is the lack of a cohesive, coherent and ,at the same time, logical model. The current state of nondual teachings is a fuzzy/miopic repeating of semidigested misconceptions that revolve around one fundamental concept of Oneness. All we have right now are swamis who are scholars at heart and are just repeating "stuff that they think the comprehend". Ramakrishna was a visionary but his comprehension of the basic mechanics of oneness was lacking. Vivekananda was a "lesser" visionary, he had experiences of oneness but could not formulate it in a precise manner. And so comprehension is lacking with each generation and the rituals and celebrations are gaining strength. Where are your visionaries?

I invite you to be the torchbearer of advaita and unite vision with oneness, and cohesion with comprehension and present a good understanding in a fresh way. I agree with what you said but you said nothing new, Swamiji himself says that the truth cannot be spoken about, it is beyond language. Spirituality is the vain attempt of writing poetry about it. It is just a pointer. If you understand the vanity of spiritual concepts along with the vanity of worldly concepts, that is true 'vision with oneness'. But that cannot be expressed in language ;)

@@nilayanmajumdar9174rightly said. In the present context of Non dual explanation of truth Swami Sarvapriyananda goes direct and his explanations are very coherent as the simple understanding of the plain truth. The concept of oneness is very straight forward this is not something objective which can be comprehend by mind or intelect its nature is subjective so most of the people cannot get even a grasp of it. Consciousness is the fundamental phenomenon which is a pure subject bodha it can't be expressed either by action or speech. That's what Ramakrishna taught.

@@nilayanmajumdar9174 Gladly. That “the truth cannot be spoken about” needs to be comprehended. It is merely pointing out the fact that a “part” cannot meaningfully represent the “whole” and so the mere attempt to do so and then claim that you have “the word of God” in your “book of choice” can be very dangerous. So, you do not try to define the undefined or the Limitless. Its because its impossible, not because you will be punished if you do so. Since it is impossible, the claim to have the one and only “truth” has historically proven to be very destructive. What I do is to define the model of oneness without telling what Oneness is. All I can do I point in the direction of oneness. So here is the fundamental or basic non dualistic model. I am going to introduce another concept, it is “cognitive principle”. You exercise your “cognitive principle” to know something. Cognitive principle can be a substitution for the concept of the mind, and I want to steer away from using the concept of “mind” because it has too many interpretations already that I do not want to introduce into this model. We start with defining the model of Brahman, God, Allah, the primordial Being, etc. (the name is irrelevant, the important distinction that it is the First one). Brahman is a “cognitive principle” in a state of wholeness or oneness. The focus of this cognitive principle is on itself, and since it has no limit, it remains in one eternal instant of self-recognition. There is one single sameness throughout the whole Oneness and it is in eternal expansion. Qualitatively it remains the same, quantitatively it is understood to be in constant expansion. A state of eternal wholeness. Atman, The son of God, etc (the extension or copy of God, 1 to 1 identical copy)… The act of self-contemplation is so immensely fulfilling that Brahman decides to “extend” Himself onto new “cognitive principles” that have free will as to how this “cognitive principle” is used. By default, each new extension of Brahman, is in the state of oneness contemplating the same being of Brahman as himself in one continuous “chorus” of “recognition of oneness” of all the Atman combined. So having defined some basics, what is happening in our case. If you were to judge yourself as to where in the model you are, most likely you will place yourself in the domain of the Atman rather that claim that you are the Primordial God himself. Our “cognitive principle” was in the same state of eternal oneness as all the rest, until it was exercised partially, thus “creating” the first “limit”. This situation of a split cognitive principle renders it “blind” to Brahman and all of the Atman. The original “whole identity” is now replaced with “the whole minus the part” and the “part” neither of whom are in a state of oneness or wholeness. Brahman and all of the collective Atman are still in the “chorus to oneness” its just we are not aware of that anymore, we are still part of oneness and cannot loose that, but our awareness is on limits. So, what happened. How we came to the point where we are now. Remember that the eternity is always in a state of expansion? As our cognitive principle became in 2 parts, we experienced a “total disconnect” from God and his Sons. It is a disconnect of awareness. Nothing has changed but our cognitive principle was divided, thus loosing its identity as a whole and as a one. My guess it was a immensely traumatic even for our experience, and echoes of that pain are still going on. So, we have our cognitive principle in 2 parts, now what? Remember that the eternity is in a state of constant expansion? The first limit, driven by the natural expansion of the cognitive principle, inflated into what is typically called a “big bang”. Mind you, while all of this is happening we are alone in our own separation. God cannot intervene, neither any of his Sons. The free will is respected. No one can intervene and no one can “know” the state of our separation since it involves the partition of their own “cognitive principle”. So Brahman has no clue of what is going on in our “cognitive principle” So, our cognitive principle is witnessing how all the limited expression of itself are multiplying and multiplying. It comes up with a strategy. It calls for union of the separated parts and we get strong nuclear force and weak nuclear force. What I am telling here is that the fundamental particles of matter are “partial exercises of our cognitive principle”, that later were “compelled” to unite. However, this union was not very effective, producing a lot of stable configurations that we call hydrogen and probably helium and the “joining” stops there. And this limited union achieved that. Later another “call to join” was introduced and the particles were compelled to congregate together, by means of gravity. Our own cognitive principle, while experiencing this state of inner separation is trying to find a way out of its mess but it has no clue how to ask for help. The universe that opens to your eyes is the best thing our cognitive principle did to “mop the mess up”. However, gravity is working against the strong and weak nuclear interactions and there is an enormous amount of resistance. You might whiteness this resistance by looking at our Sun Alcyone. An enormous amount of matter being forced into becoming one by pressure. Eventually gravity “wins” and in the process of the final destruction a lot of matter is splattered all over. If a theoretical oneness can be achieved by smashing the separated into one it does not appear to be very effective. The main event in this universe is fusion, which is an attempt at regaining oneness. A very time consuming and ineffective one. What we experience here within the framework of “humanity” is another story. Here it is. The “wet spec of dust” that we call Earth has as its main solvent something we call water. This solvent and many other mechanics allow for complex carbon molecules to be the basis of the biosphere. This biosphere is an attempt, of some separated part of our cognitive principle, to provide a “foothold” to explore this whole separation from inside. So far, the human platform has proven to be the major expression of the cognitive principle among all other forms of “life” we find on our planet. Many have reached what is called “the awakening” however this experience is not without a caveat and can be misunderstood and misrepresented. The awakening is merely what results when the cognitive principle is contemplating itself rather that the limits to which it adheres. But understand that this awakening is a “blind” one, since you only awake to the fact that you are not limited, but full wholeness is way outside of your experience as of now. The full wholeness or oneness is only at the very, very end. Many have awoken but one of them could “erase himself” so thoroughly, become so empty and clean, that a clear channel was opened through which help could be received from another “cognitive principle” that is in the state of oneness. This helper is just another Atman assigned to assist our cognitive principle to regain oneness. You might know this helper as the “holy ghost” or the “holy spirit” (the naming is completely irrelevant, only the function is important) Now we have access to the helper but how do we enable ourselves to be able to receive that help. By means of surrendering the cognitive principle, you believe to have sovereignty of, to the helper. Forgiveness, surrender and renunciation are the most powerful tools at our disposal. What they do is to “let go” of any and all content that you hold on to. Mechanically what happens is that you do not hold on to limits and the inner emptiness allows for the inner experience of oneness. In the state of inner division and separation all of our thoughts are limited and not a single thought is required for you to Be. However in the tumult of the passions of the “world” you do not see limits for what they are but see fantasies and colors and tastes and smells and textures. You see yourself victor or a victim. I can go on but this is enough for the basics I guess….
