Monopoly Penguin
Rich is on the cusp of a couple of massive life changes, but he won’t let ageing and moving get in the way of asking comedians strange questions in an attempt to make them reveal intimate truths. Today he talks to a man with inventive ideas for revenge and murder, Limmy.
They discuss being concreted into the pavement, manspreading, swearing xylophones, fake whatsapps, undescended testicles, sea lion genitals, how to save money when touring, the joy of travelling the world and seeing nothing but Columbo and dedicate a lot of time to the best tactics required to win at Monopoly.
This podcast is not sponsored by Bulb, but Rich thinks they are good and we can both get a £50 credit on our accounts if you sign up to them using this code - bulb.co.uk/ref...

rich, i'm a u.s. based viewer & i discovered RHLSTP (rhlstp!) over lockdown. i can't thank you enough for doing these! you've introduced me to so many comedians i'd never heard of & i now adore! (i've always watched more brit tv than u.s. tv so i've known a lot of your guests. which is how i found the podcast in the first place.) limmy is one of those people. i love seeing him interviewed. i love reading his books. i love the eps of Limmy's Show that i've been able to find. (very few are avail even on the sneaky, hidden areas of the interwebs where i can find brit shows that aren't otherwise avail to people in the u.s..) limmy is such a gem... i also love that limmy is one of the guests who you allow to answer your questions. (i know you know this, but you normally ask a question that you yourself answer, so you dominate the time. which is fine. it's your thing. it hasn't stopped me from subscribing to your channel & buying your books & stuff. it's just that sometimes i like it when the guests are allowed to share their thoughts with the audience.) ... blah, blah, blah... thanks, rich!
@Herring1967
@Herring1967 Жыл бұрын
I only answer the question myself if I sense the guest needs some time. But yeah, it's a conversation not an interview. My job is to judge when to be straight man, when to be funny, when to talk more or less. It will always be in response to the vibe from the guest. But they are always allowed to answer - sometimes they don't want to. Glad you enjoy the show!

Bought 'That's your lot' pre-order and read, good but not for people that like uplifting, heartwarming tales. On Skye couple of weeks ago, picked up 'Daft wee tales' from a brick-a-brac type place in Harrapool. £2 and in good as new condition, chuffed as. Woman selling could have charged a fiver and I'd still might have gone for it. Walked out the shop tall as one of the Cullins, only one winner there. Not read yet but I'll keep everyone posted so don't let that bother you. I like Limmy's delivery of comedy, it's beats are his own.

Andy Galloway - Richard has commented on this himself, the best podcast guests are people who come on and don't just recite their stand up routines. I think it's more interesting in these podcasts to find out about the person themselves and this for me was a case where that didn't happen. Each to their own but there's plenty of other videos of Limmy on youtube if you just want to see his comedy.
